Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) went to New Hampshire this last week, and called for proof of Donald Trump’s Republican registration. Really funny in the context of Trump’s calls for Obama to release his birth certificate. Paul said:
I’ve come to New Hampshire today because I’m very concerned. I want to see the original long-form certificate of Donald Trump’s Republican registration.
Embarrassingly, there is less evidence that Trump is a long time Republican than there is that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii. Perhaps this will be the end of the silly ‘birther’ theme. Trump, on the other hand was a registered Democrat as recently as 2009.
Apparently now, Trump is in a desperate search for Obama’s grades. We have slaughter in Syria, both Trump and Obama are uninterested. Libya is a mess that Obama can’t manage to be concerned about. Obama has suggested that the unsettled Arab countries should pump more oil to reduce our cost of gas, and Trump is concerned about Obama’s grades many years ago when he was in college?
I guess some people admire Trump because he is “taking on” Obama. I don’t get it. I’d like to see the long form of his Republican registration too.

Donald Trump is a joke of a candidate because he will literally say anything to get what he wants. He’s flipped on issues and contributed to both parties.
Comment by politifox April 30, 2011 @ 5:47 pmHe could have possibly made a serious run if he had not focused on the birther issue. To contend with what you said in your post, there is overwhelming evidence of the President’s birthplace: from 2 forms of birth certificate issued from the State, to the Health Department’s birth announcement in the local newspaper, to family friend’s accounts of his day of birth. Any logical person can look at the facts and determine with certainty where the President was born.
I enjoyed the jab by Rand Paul. I don’t even think Trump knows where he stands on the issues.
Maybe my phrasing was unfortunate. I meant that there was little to no evidence that Trump is a Republican, and plenty of evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii. I have never understood the “birther” group. Now Trump wants to chase down his grades. Whatever for? The media can’t stop talking about the ‘baggage’ many candidates carry, yet haven’t said a word about Trump’s multiple marriages, bankruptcies, generous support for Democrat politicians. Trumps few remarks on foreign policy should be enough to eliminate him from consideration. You’re right. He’s a joke.
Comment by The Elephant's Child April 30, 2011 @ 5:58 pmTrump is a gift to the Democrats. Unfortunately, his views on foreign policy only reinforce the stereotype of Americans — e.g., that our only real interest in the Middle East and North Africa is their oil — held by much of the rest of the world.
Comment by Subsidy Eye April 30, 2011 @ 10:29 pmThanks for posting this comment. I said something to this effect myself. Mr. Trump is a fake candidate with fake issues. I hope he moves on and finds another hobby soon.
