Nationwide Police Response Time by The Elephant's Child

OK. You’re home alone, and somebody is trying to break into the house downstairs, so you call 911. How long will it take the police to get there?  At Newtown, it took the police twenty minutes to reach the school.

Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapons ban gathered almost no votes and is DOA. The Democrats didn’t like her bill, but will continue to pursue more gun control legislation.

Apparently, Feinstein’s bill was shot down by none other than Harry Reid. In fact, the majority of Democrat proposals seem to be beaten down by other Democrats (and they’re saying that the Republicans are “fragmented” and “uncooperative with each other”).

And everyone seems to think that if the Dems win the House in 2014, Obama will get everything else on his agenda. Somehow, I don’t see it.

I’ve seen several pieces that indicate that Democrats are beginning to find out “what is in it” as ObamaCare begins to come into effect. There are lots of Democrats who hunt, fish and shoot as well. I have a sneaking suspicion that there are a lot of Democrats who are there because they have always been, who have no understanding of what the Democrat party really is today. Of course they have no understanding of what the Republican party is either, except we must be worse.
