What could be sexier than pollination? With the weather freezing in much of the country, our weather here in the Puget Sound area is mild, but nippy (in the high 40°s) and it’s been foggy for days. Still, a nice pollination video is just what the doctor ordered. Reposted from last year.

Here in NE Tennessee we will be reaching a balmy 19 today…

Where I grew up, it occasionally got down to 20 below, but below zero was normal. When the snow got too heavy, my dad would get up in the middle of the night to plow, then plow again in the morning. Three or four feet was normal, five not uncommon. We had our own plow on a Jeep pickup, because we couldn’t wait for the county. Here we often get snow once or twice. Seattle is the city of 7 hills, and there’s a hill in every direction from my house. The snow quickly turns to ice and driving becomes impossible. I feel like a wimp for being unable to drive in it, but snow here is different that the dry snow I grew up with. Been snowed in, but the most exciting time was when my dad derailed the Union Pacific and they had to send to Ogden for a crane.
