They truly are creepy, kooky, eecky and ooky. They’re the first family of Halloween — Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Pubert, Grandma, Uncle Fester, Thing, Lurch, and Cousin It — the Addams Family.
Both the original, The Addams Family, and the sequel, Addams Family Values, are great Halloween fun. The first is perhaps a bit Halloweenier in theme, but I prefer Addams Family Values for the better laughs, richer performances, and for the additions of Carol Kane and a memorably hilarious performance by Joan Cusack.
If dark comedy and camp are your bag, then Addams Family Values is just the right treat. Rated PG-13 for sexual innuendo and mild violence.
