Who says Halloween has to be scary?

Hocus Pocus is wicked good fun for kids and adults alike. The 1993 Disney film stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker as the Sanderson Sisters of Salem, Massachusetts.

Hanged for witchcraft in 1693 by the citizens of Salem, the sisters are brought back to life 300 years later by the new kid in town, trying to prove to a pretty girl that he isn’t scared of local legends and superstitions.

The three musical witches then have just one night in which to rob enough children of their life force or they will disappear forever.

Funny, formulaic and fun, Hocus Pocus is rated PG for scenes that may scare the younger ones, and some brief colorful language. A great movie to get the whole family in the Halloween spirit.
