Perseids Meteor Shower

…and get as far away from city lights as possible. The Perseids meteor shower reaches it’s peak tonight and into Monday morning—after midnight and all night long—about 2:00 AM EST should be best, as that’s when the Earth passes through the thickest part of the field.

The rare timing of the shower during a new moon means extra dark skies which will improve viewing, so if the skies are clear where you are, head outside, give your eyes about 15 minutes to get used to the dark, lay on your back, and look up—and have fun!

UPDATE: If you missed, or weren’t able to see the showers Sunday night, never fear, they will still be visible in the next few nights.
