Remember the right things
Remember those who lost family, friends and loved ones. Remember them. They still grieve.
Be there for them, but let them do the grieving. It’s time for the rest of us to stop focusing on grief and remember.
Remember those who looked up at towering infernos, smelled the burning fuel, felt the heat, heard the girders buckle and groan — then gathered their courage and charged inside. Remember, especially, those who never made it back out.
But most importantly, remember what those bastards did to us:
Remember airliners full of terrified men, women and children. Remember flight attendants with knives pressed to their throats.
Remember those trapped above the flames with no way out. Remember their calls to 911 operators. “Oh my God, I’m going to die!”
Remember the unfathomable choice forced on them, do they wait and burn alive, or do they jump 110 stories to their deaths?
Remember the bastards who did this to us.
Remember the passengers who knew. Remember telephone calls and last goodbyes. “I love you! …I’ve got to go now.” Remember how they fought back and sacrificed themselves — most likely saving the United States Congress in the process.
Remember the sound of the second plane full of people roaring in — so very low — and the explosive smack as it hit. Remember that split-second when you and I, and everyone across the country realized as one — this was no accident.
Remember everything those God-damned bastards did to us.
Remember 2,873 savage murders.
Remember, but for the grace of God, there could have been 50,000 souls in the Trade Center had it been just a little later in the morning. Remember there were to have been more hijacked flights aimed at Chicago and Los Angeles and other cities across the country. Remember the anthrax.
Remember how close they came.
They chose their targets ruthlessly. They weren’t aiming only to kill Americans — to them it was a fortunate consequence of their plan — they were aiming to destroy America.
They struck at heart of American commerce in order to destroy the economy:
They struck at the heart of American defense in order to destroy the military infrastructure:
And they tried to strike the capitol, hoping to kill as much of Congress as possible, to destroy our government’s ability to recover. Thank God they were thwarted:
What would have happened to the economy with Wall Street and the financial district destroyed and congress dead? What would have happened to the military with its leadership dead? What would have happened throughout the country with Wall Street destroyed, the military command obliterated and no federal government to put things back together?
And what would have happened when additional attacks followed — as they were meant to?
Too many people think September 11th was only about killing. It was about killing — but it was about much more than that. It was about utterly destroying the entire nation. It was about bringing down America.
Remember it all. Remember everything they did. Remember how close those evil sons of bitches came.

And if you think the resemblance is creepy, you should hear them both speak! Hmm, come to think of it… I never have seen them together!

In their never-ending war on all things Christian in public, the ACLU has been gunning for an unassuming portrait of Jesus Christ in a small city courthouse in Slidell, Louisiana. The portrait, which depicts Jesus presenting the New Testament has hung above the words, “To know peace, obey these laws,” for more than a decade.
The ACLU filed suit claiming the portrait violated the non-existent, “separation of Church and State,” clause of the Constitution.
In an effort to compromise, the city added portraits of 15 of history’s other most prominent lawgivers including those of Mohammed (who is shown holding the Koran), Charlemagne, Confuscius, Moses, Hammurabi, Napoleon, Sir William Blackstone and King Louis IX of France.
Naturally, that wasn’t good enough for the ACLU — Jesus, and only Jesus, had to go. They pressed on with their lawsuit.
“We did not file this lawsuit because the ACLU is anti-religion,”… said Vincent Booth, president and acting executive director of the Louisiana ACLU chapter. [read more]
Clearly not. If they were anti-religion they would have sued to remove the portrait of Mohammad as well. Clearly, they are just anti-Christian. (This is news to anyone?)
A Federal Judge ruled against the ACLU yesterday:
“The court today recognized that the First Amendment allows public officials, and not the ACLU, to determine what is appropriate for acknowledging our nation’s legal and cultural heritage,” said Mike Johnson, senior legal counsel for the Christian legal group Alliance Defense Fund, in a statement Friday.
“The ACLU’s sole and stated objective in this case was to have the Jesus painting removed. But the Constitution does not prohibit public buildings from memorializing great figures from our history.”…
“It’s sad that we’ve reached a point where such images have to be defended,” ADF’s Johnson said. “The ruling today is believed to be the first-ever federal court decision to specifically review and uphold as constitutional an image of an adult Jesus on public display.” [read more]

What’s wrong with this sentence:
“A newspaper ad from the anti-war group MoveOn.org that attacks Gen. David Petraeus has prompted a Republican outcry in Washington, D.C.”
Whats deeply disturbing, yet predictable, is that only Republicans decried an ad that accuses General Petraeus of, “betray[ing]” America, of, “Cooking the Books for the White House” and that alleges, “General Petraeus is a military man constantly at war with the facts.”
Democrats, who regularly decry any mention of their voting records as an attack on their patriotism and demand apologies, retractions and condemnations, could find no such outrage over an ad that directly attacks the honesty, integrity and patriotism of a man who has spent his entire life, and put his very life on the line in service of this country.
By the end of the day, 30 Republican senators and Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., had written to the Democratic Senate Leader, asking him to “join us in making it clear that you do not share the views of Moveon.org, and that you will not join Moveon.org in attacking the character of this fine officer” [read more]
God Bless Joe Lieberman.
But no Democrats could bring themselves to denounce such a vile ad. Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards all refused to condemn it, and intead attacked Republicans for trying to “change the subject.”
Indeed, why would they decry the ad? Democrats have been smearing Petraeus for days.
Fortunately, Republicans in the House have introduced a resolution condemning MoveOn and their reprehensible ad. Democrats will do everything they can to keep it from coming to a vote — let’s hope Republicans can force the issue.
If Democrats vote against it, Republicans have excellent campaign fodder — if they vote for it, the lunatic left will go postal on them.
Either way, its good for America!
