Henry Kissinger Responds to Obama by American Elephant

Henry Kissinger slams Obama. The Weekly Standard has the exclusive:

Henry Kissinger believes Barack Obama misstated his views on diplomacy with US adversaries and is not happy about being mischaracterized. He says: “Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality.”

Of course McCain pretty much slammed him on the spot. Is there anyone who wasn’t reminded of Lloyd Bentsen’s famous response to Dan Quayle?

“Senator, I know Henry Kissinger, and you’re no Henry Kissinger.”

A devastating blow.

Henry is responding to support the Republican candidate. The Fact Check guys have already covered this, and in essence, both candidates are correct.

———————-
OBAMA: “Senator McCain mentioned Henry Kissinger, who is one of his advisers, who along with five recent secretaries of state just said we should meet with Iran — guess what? — without preconditions.”

MCCAIN: “Dr. Kissinger did not say that he would approve face-to-face meetings between the president of the United States and (Iranian President Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad. He did not say that. He said there could be secretary-level and lower-level meetings. I’ve always encouraged that.”

THE FACTS: Obama was right that Kissinger called for meetings without preconditions. McCain was right that Kissinger did not call for such meetings to be between the two presidents.

I realize it’s difficult to remain non-biased. Y’all might just have to get used to the idea that you’re gonna have an intelligent black man as president!

Who is the intelligent black man? McCain and Obama are the only candidates I know of.

The problem with your, and FactCheck’s analyis is that Obama has been saying since the Democrat primaries that HE would meet with our enemies without pre-conditions. Not that lower levels would. Now he is simply lying about what he has said. And for Obama to pretend as if Kissinger disagreed with McCain and agreed with him was just another bald faced lie, as Kissinger has just made clear.

Kissinger strongly opposes meeting with Iran at a presidential level — Obamas stated policy — and Obama tried to make it sound otherwise. That’s not being right, that’s flat out lying.

While at the same time, NO one is claiming that we shouldn’t meet with nations like Iran, Korea, Syria, Venezuela at lower levels. Indeed, Obama tries to pretend that the Bush administration is now doing precisely that because he suggested it.

Problem there is the Bush administration has been meeting with these nations at lower levels the whole time. Certainly long before Obama suggested it. Again, Obama and Democrats attempts to make people believe otherwise are simply bald faced lies.

As for Obama becoming pres, John Zogby seems to think the election very may well be a landslide for… John McCain.

I certainly hope so. Obama is a socialist/Marxist and opposes the very princioles of small, limited federal government and individual liberty and responsibility that our nation was founded on.
