I liked it better when we celebrated Lincoln’s birthday and Washington’s birthday separately.  Remember this man, he saved the Union.

My childhood school days were spent in the state of illinois, before there was a President’s Day holiday. We always had Lincoln’s birthday off but never Washington’s birthday.

I appreciate people’s desire for occasional 3-day weekends, but we end up forgetting the reason for the holiday in the first place. Our two most revered presidents deserve a little thought.
