This is Seattle. I’m refinishing the front deck. We’ve had a couple weeks of beautiful weather, but it wasn’t enough. Rain is expected, so I’ve built a tent over the deck, with lots of plastic, duct tape, lath and spit. Rain Saturday and Sunday, sun Monday, rain Tuesday ad infinitum. If you believe in climate forecasts of alarming global warming extending 50 years into the future, perhaps you can explain why today, which was supposed to be sunny, has deteriorated into a day of tent building to keep my deck dry.
It has been an unusually chilly summer and we Seattleites have marveled at reports of 100° weather elsewhere in the country. Basking on the beach? Swimming in the lake? Hah! It’s time to turn the heat on. Break out the sweaters and sweatshirts, down comforters and my cozy knit hat with the ear-flaps.
Just let me get the deck done first!
