I’ve read several books by Professor Sowell, and they are all terrific, except for being very slow reading. Not that they aren’t accessible, because they are. The man writes simply and clearly. The slowdown comes when you read something and it twists your head around so that you have to put the book down for a while and really, I mean REALLY think about what he’s just said.

I consider Thomas Sowell one of the brilliant minds that America has ever been blessed with, and if anyone ever deserved the Presidential Medal of Freedom it would be Professor Sowell.

Of course he will never be awarded the medal by THIS president, since that would require a president that actually believes in, you know, freedom.

Oh I agree. He also speaks in aphorisms. I have, for a number of years, been keeping my own quotation book because I’ve found Bartletts unsatisfying (and old), and it’s full of gems from Dr. Sowell.
