What could he possibly have been thinking? Or was this simply the absence of all thought?

I’ve never really credited Thomas Friedman with any resembling thought.

Comment by Lon Mead December 29, 2013 @ 7:33 amTom Friedman is the personification of the east coast liberal establishment who believe whatever wrongs occur in the world, America is at fault. The blame America first crowd will always say we need to adapt to the complaints of the rest of the world. Islamofascism hates that we have freedom of religion, hate western women are treated as equals, hate our freedom of speech; in short they are driven by hate and envy of our constitutional rights and freedoms. Friedman has lost all credibility and is now nothing more than a tool of the hate America crowd.

Comment by Gordon Olivant December 29, 2013 @ 11:29 amMy recollection is that Friedman is pretty critical of radical Islam. See, for example, this column:

Is he saying that America is at fault? Doesn’t look like it to me.
That said, to suggest that a carbon tax is the answer to “bigoted ideology” is pretty laughable, I agree.
