American Elephants

Hey Big Spender! by The Elephant's Child

On the day Barack Obama took office, January 21, 2009, America’s national debt stood  at a mere $10.625 trillion.

America’s national debt cleared $18 trillion on Black Friday. That’s $18,000,000,000,000.00 — I think that’s right, all those zeroes and I get confused.

In March, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projected the Obama U.S.debt would result in interest payment on U.S. debt quadrupling by 2024 to an astounding $880 billion a year, a sum 105 times bigger than  the FBI’s budget.

ObamaTuxObama says his fiscal  policies have been a boon to America.”By every economic measure, we are better off now than when I took office” said Obama in October.

What happens when 100 million Americans are not in the labor force?

The U.S. population, according to the population clock is currently 319,400,203.

32 million Americans work for the government. 69 million cannot work (mostly children and the aged), 18 million are unemployed. So you have 110 million in the labor force who are not working, , add the 32 million government workers, the 69 million who cannot work, which gives you 211 million who are being supported by the remaining 108 million who are actually working in the private sector. (They pay for the 32 million government employees too).

“By every economic measure, we are better off now than when I took office”  Uh huh.
