Tired of your job? Sometimes it helps to see what other people do. Shamelessly borrowed from Maggie’s Farm. Are these weekly shifts? Or do they have to do this every day?

If I’m not mistaken, I think the shifts there are two man crews, two weeks on, one week off, and the rotation is to replace one keeper once a week.

I would think the truly nerve-wracking role would be the ship’s captain (listen, and you can hear where the engine is winding up and down in an effort to keep from running into the tower base and from being pushed away by the waves). Riding across the line looks like fun (but I’m a roller-coaster addict).

Definitely not my cup of tea. Solid ground beneath my feet.
