Google Is Simply a Democrat Party Apparatchik by The Elephant's Child

googlecampus_20130730_2-cropped

A leaked video of the weekly all-hands meeting at Google just after the election in 2016 reveals an atmosphere of panic and dismay among the company’s leadership, and a determination to fight the Trump agenda and the broader populist movement emerging around the world.

These weekly meetings are known as “TGIF” meetings  (“Thank God It’s Friday”). It features co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, VPs Kent Walker and Eileen Naughton, CFO Ruth Porat and CEO Sundar Pichai. You should watch the whole thing in order to get the full context. These individuals preside over a company with unrivaled influence over the flow of information, disparages the motivations of Trump voters and plots ways to use their vast resources to thwart the Trump agenda.

Sergey Brin compares Trump supporters to fascists and extremists, argues that Trump voters were motivated by “boredom” which in the past has led to fascism and communism. And he asks the company to consider what it can do to ensure a “better quality of governance and decision-making.”

CEO Sundar Pichai states that the company will develop machine learning and A.I. to combat what an employee described as “misinformation” shared by “low-information voters”.  All of the speakers assume that every employee is a Democrat and voted for the most corrupt politician to ever run for public office.

Google tried to help Hillary win by driving the Latino vote. John Hinderaker wrote:

I’ve written several times about the fact that the Left has outsourced censorship to the giant tech firms of Silicon Valley. Given that much political debate now takes place on social media, generally thought of as a public space, it is a handy way around the First Amendment. But the role of the giant tech companies goes beyond suppressing conservative voices, to include promoting liberalism and the Democratic Party.

The tech companies all take the same position as the Democratic Party press: sure, we’re all liberals here, but it doesn’t affect what we do! In our business lives, we are scrupulously neutral.

No one has bought that line with regard to the liberal media in a long time, and there is no reason to believe it with regard to Silicon Valley, either. The latest evidence comes from a leaked Google email that found its way onto the Tucker Carlson show last night:

A Google executive’s leaked email reveals efforts to increase Latino turnout prior to the 2016 U.S. presidential election and the executive’s “surprise” at Donald Trump’s performance among Latino voters.

A lawsuit by New Mexico’s Attorney General accuses a popular app maker as well as online ad businesses run by Google and Twitter of using game apps that captivate kids to collect their private data, violating children’s privacy law.

I always thought that Facebook’s urging people to share their family doings and events with their friends (and the rest of the world that uses the internet) would reveal where their kids go to school, where they live, and all sorts of other information that it’s dangerous to make public in today’s world.

If you can bring yourself to watch the whole thing, and you should because this is a very very big deal that is going to effect the future of our country, you will find yourself with all sorts of different emotions. You will want to write to your congressman at once to demand that they regulate the “masters of the universe.” You will wonder how these people can have some valuable technical skills —and yet be so completely lacking in cultural awareness or knowledge of history, What kind of an astonishing monoculture have they created with a huge organization of mind-controlled robots. They don’t even know what the Trump agenda is, nor do they seem to know anything about Hillary’s history as the most corrupt person ever to run for public office. Unthinking acceptance of the Democrat Party line.

Here’s (I think) is the V.P. Kent Walker demonstrating the company’s leadership’s stunning political bias. I’m not familiar with the faces except for Pichai. What should be done? Break them up under the Sherman Antitrust Act? John Hinderaker has suggestions. Other countries, and the EU are not going to accept the level of capturing people’s private information to sell to advertisers. There will be an enormous reaction to these videos.

Be sure you accompany this post with the previous article about China’s new surveillance culture. These are people who have no understanding of a free people and limited government and the Constitution that guides us. They want to be in control so we will do things their way, and not talk back. 242 years of struggle for freedom and these mindless misfits have no understanding whatsoever of what freedom is all about and how fragile it is.

Update — After Breitbart News published this article, a Google spokesperson replied to a request for comment with the following statement:

“At a regularly scheduled all hands meeting, some Google employees and executives expressed their own personal views in the aftermath of a long and divisive election season. For over 20 years, everyone at Google has been able to freely express their opinions at these meetings. Nothing was said at that meeting, or any other meeting, to suggest that any political bias ever influences the way we build or operate our products. To the contrary, our products are built for everyone, and we design them with extraordinary care to be a trustworthy source of information for everyone, without regard to political viewpoint.”

Three Failed Governors Getting Together To Make Matters Worse! by The Elephant's Child

02212013_money_drain_article

LifeZette’s headline: “Privately Funded Government Jobs Advance Left’s Climate Agenda.” The invaluable Chris Horner at CEI details how three governors (Jerry Brown,  Andrew Cuomo, and Jay Inslee) who have managed to make a mess of the states they have been running, are using activist donor money to bypass their legislatures. The CEI report details a budget of $10 million in donor money for 2018 and $25 million in 2019.

Another new report exposes Global Warming “Law Enforcement for Rent”. Donors are paying for lawyers to pursue environmental cases by state Attorney Generals. This is another brief summary of Chris Horner’s work. If you find this somewhat alarming, you may want to review Chris Horner’s actual work, which is very long but readily available at CEI.org.

The environmental movement has long had advisors in the governors offices offering help with good programs to introduce, conference calls with other governors who are doing the same “good work”, good publicity, that sort of thing. This seems to be something different and more alarming.

The globe has been warming and cooling for millions of years, and has actually cooled a bit recently. Hurricanes are not caused by global warming. The amount of CO² in the atmosphere is helping plants to grow, including our forests, because CO² is a natural fertilizer. Helps food crops as well, which is relieving hunger across the world. Alarmist global warming exists only in the computer programs devised by climate scientists who want government grants and new equipment and assume that they can create in a computer a program that prophecies the future climate of the world. They can’t. If you want the real climate, consult Dr. Roy Spencer, who runs the satellites that actually measure the temperatures of the world, with Dr. John Christy at University of Alabama at Huntsville.

Christiana Figueres, who was general secretary of the UN’s Framework Convention of Climate Change spilled the beans in February of 2015, when she earnestly explained that the goal of environmental activists was not to save the world from ecological calamity—but to destroy Capitalism.

Fairly recently, we were told that although there was no Russian collusion in the presidential campaign, the Russians were investing a lot to support environmental cases against fracking and natural gas in the U.S. in particular. Russia is very dependent on the money they get from selling their natural gas to Europe, and they don’t want any competition, either from fracking, or from U.S. sales of natural gas so if they can encourage environmentalists who want to file lawsuits, they’re there to help.

We Need to Take the Idea of “Control” A Lot More Seriously by The Elephant's Child

413800-jinping-98

The news is, at best, as disturbing as could be imagined, but it takes a lot of reading to understand the developments. Let’s start with China. President Xi Jinping is not merely an authoritarian leader. He evidently believes that the Party must have absolute and complete control over society, and he must have absolute and complete control over the Party. China returns once more to totalitarianism.

“By 2020, Chinese officials plan to have about 626 million surveillance cameras  operating throughout the country. The cameras will, among other things, feed information into a national “social credit system.

That system, when it is in place in perhaps two years, will assign to every person in China a constantly updated score based on observed behaviors. For example, an instance of jaywalking, caught by one of those cameras, will result in a reduction in score.

Although officials might hope to reduce jaywalking, they seem to have far more sinister ambitions, such as ensuring conformity to Communist Party political demands. In short, the government looks as if it is determined to create what the Economist called “the world’s first digital totalitarian state.”

That social credit system, once perfected, will surely be extended to foreign companies and individuals.

A journalist named Liu Hu was prevented from taking a flight because he had a low score. According to the Global Times (a communist controlled paper) by the end of April 2018, authorities had blocked individuals from taking 1.4 million flights and 4,25 million high-speed train trips. Liu said “I can’t buy property. My child can’t go to a private school” You are being controlled by the list all the time.

Chinese leaders have long been interested in making defiance virtually impossible. With the the capabilities they are developing it would seem that absolute control is in the works.

Americans who have studied up on Communism as practiced in Russia, the eastern European nations, and Castro’s Cuba, and now Venezuela, find our own Democrat party’s fight to be in control of our country and our Politics off-putting. But this kind of control is far beyond anything that we even could imagine. Do Read the Whole Thing. It’s not that long.
