The Barr Interview and Why It’s Important by The Elephant's Child

Attorney General William Barr appeared on CBS for an interview, and we  have the transcript available, which is more valuable than seeing the interview, to catch exactly what he had to say. The transcript is here. It is worth your time. We are deep in a disagreeable swamp here with a political party entirely focused on removing a president that they have blown up into a veritable monster, for no viable reason whatsoever. They have called him every nasty name they can think of, and Attorney General William Barr few new ones, a seething rage that seems to make no sense whatsoever.

They have become a party of feelings rather than fact. The booming economy, full employment, lowest unemployment rates for Blacks in history. only serve to enrage them further. They are reduced to claiming that the good economy was really started by Obama, but he just didn’t have enough time to finish it. Sorry, he had eight years, and was utterly clueless. But they are desperate to do Trump in. How we got here and the attempted coup must be exposed thoroughly and completely.

“Investigating the Investigators” or Exploring an Attempted Coup by The Elephant's Child

Judicial Watch hosted a panel discussion on “investigating the investigators” to probe the Mueller investigation. If you are troubled by the efforts of the Democrats to stage a coup in the biggest government scandal in our nation’s history, you will find this of interest.  It’s a group of very knowledgeable observers, and a fascinating discussion. I watched the whole thing. It’s an hour long if you can find the time. It’s clear that President Obama was fully informed from the beginning.

Violating every principle of our constitutional republic is not a matter of concern. Sanctuary cities exist for the purpose of attracting illegal aliens to be counted in the coming census– which will increase their representation in Congress. Impeaching the duly elected president will put them back in charge, voting to have your state’s electoral vote go to the winner of the national popular vote just fixes an error on the part of the ill-informed folks who wrote the Constitution. There’s an old saying: power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

A Little Common Sense from 1776 by The Elephant's Child

From Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense”, a pamphlet published on January 10, 1776:

Some writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness positively by uniting our affections, the latter negatively by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one; for when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries by a Government, which we might expect in a country without Government, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer…” [italics are in the original]
