The British medical journal The Lancet claims in its latest issue that “the effects of the dual crises of climate change and the coronavirus are “converging” and require a concerted response.” Let’s start with the fact that there is no climate crisis. The earth is warming, very slightly, but it has warmed far more in the past, and proved to be no big deal. I will say it again. The most recent science says that the earth has been warmer in the past. Swedish autistic child Greta Thunberg has been misled, but her parents are doing very nicely on the revenue from her efforts. The Lancet says:

Despite their apparent dissimilarities, the causes of both crises “share commonalities” and “their effects are converging,” it declares. “The climate emergency and COVID-19, a zoonotic disease, are both borne of human activity that has led to environmental degradation.”

The journal asserts that both the coronavirus and climate change “have led to the preventable loss of lives through actions that are delayed, insufficient, or mistaken,” giving, of course, no examples of death by climate change.

Joe Biden wants to combine the climate and coronavirus in order to get them through the Senate. Nancy Pelosi has just inadvertently admitted that she has been withholding the Coronavirus relief funds so desperately needed by closed restaurants and stores, in order to get the credit for a new Democrat president instead of the hated Trump. These lefties, Democrats, the World Economic Forum, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Joe Biden, Pope Francis, are arguing for a “global reset”, the object of which is to end capitalism,  bring on world government, an end to nations, and other lefty delusions.

The trouble with Capitalism is, of course, that it allows some people to get rich, even very rich. AOC is selling a tee-shirt that says in small type on the front “Tax the Rich”, for which she is charging $58. The primary delusion of Communism or Socialism is that you can make everybody equal. Then you don’t have to feel guilty if you drive a better car than your neighbor. People are not equal. You cannot make them equal. Some people are pretty, others fat and ugly. Some people are very intelligent, others not so much, ambitious, while others are lazy.  Our differences are what make us human. We are an imperfect race, but we are not yet a mindless bunch of identical robots. The hallowed Franklin Delano Roosevelt made the Great Depression last seven years longer than was necessary, and died in the arms of his mistress in Warm Springs, Georgia, leaving Eleanor behind, I assume with the little dog Fala.

How anybody can, in the face of so many bad examples, Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela etc. think that communism is a good idea, boggles the mind. You might search out The Black Book of Communism at your public library or at Amazon. Or if that is too big and fat a book for you, Richard Pipes has out a very nice history of Communism. Also, while I’m at it, look for Thomas Sowell’s A Conflict of Visions, and Marxism.
