Patrick Moore was one of the original founders of Greenpeace, but quit them when they decided they were just another far-left activist group and no longer interested in the environment. It has been called, by those who know a thing or two about books on the environment, the best book yet.

It’s important to understand the battle right now, because new President Joe Biden is issuing executive orders one after another to ‘save’ the environment, as we have seen with the cancellation of the XL pipeline, and some 11,000 jobs, rejoining the Paris Accords, which is useless and costly, and much more to come. Biden believes that we are facing a climate catastrophe of some sort, and plans to legislate accordingly. We need an informed bunch of voters who can talk to their representatives. Or perhaps you should buy a book for your representative, or President Biden, but you can’t guarantee that they would read it.

I grew up mostly outdoors, in the mountains of Idaho at about 4000′ with 400 acres to run around in, with a St. Bernard to keep an eye on me. I have experienced a lot of climate, with big winters and lovely summers, and you are not likely to sell me on a “climate crisis”.

There is a Kindle version at Amazon, and the paperback is just $19.97. Your kids will need this knowledge as well, for it is going to e a long term battle. Biden wants to get us into The Great Reset, which is a world government, total control of the people thing. If you have not heard of that, enter that title in the blank space over Bob Hope’s head in the sidebar. I’ve written about that several times. Or simply do a search for “The Great Reset,” that’s one to really frighten you.

It Simply Does Not Work! by The Elephant's Child

Here’s an excellent article by Willis Eschenbach explaining why the “Green New Deal” and President Biden’s bright ideas about the XL Pipeline, and eliminating fossil fuels, and running the country on beautiful wind and solar energy are sheer bunk. That’s from the practical, technical side. You cannot run a huge modern industrial country on wind and solar energy. It simply does not work. Wind and solar cannot produce the needed energy. Dumping the XL Pipeline accomplishes nothing except to deprive thousands of people of their jobs, infuriates our close neighbors and friends to the north, and costs them billions to find another way to get their oil to the countries that purchase it. It can be transported by train, which is less safe than a pipeline. But it’s just so dumb. Doesn’t take a lot of studying-up to learn that you are barking up the wrong tree, but it does require some.

There is no climate crisis. The earth just goes on warming and cooling with the seasons, some years it’s particularly hot in the summer, some years there is way more snow in the winter. The climate seems to be controlled by the actions of the sun, rather than the exhausts of our motor vehicles. The administration seems to think that we can just switch to electric cars, and all will be well, but where do they think the electricity comes from? We have long since dammed all of our major rivers, and that does not begin to produce enough energy to run everything, Most of our electric power comes from burning fossil fuels. A little homework clarifies all, but the Biden administration doesn’t do that. Joe Biden is deeply involved in trying to undo anything done by the Trump administration, but the Trump administration did do their homework, and knew what they were doing. If the climate does eventually turn out to be in crisis, the Space Force will save us.

If you are interested, here is a copy of President Biden’s Executive Order.

President Joe Biden’s ‘Climate Envoy’ John Kerry spoke out Thursday to push back against the opposition to President Joe Biden’s climate agenda. He said on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that he does not understand the opposition because Biden’s agenda creates a better “standard of living” and “quality of life”. The 60,000 people who just lost their high-paying pipeline jobs might feel some opposition, and question the quality of life bit. He has suggested that they can find new employment making solar panels. Uh huh. He’s managed to irritate a couple of Indian tribes as well.

The XL Pipeline was designed to carry Canadian Oil down to American refineries and then on to the Gulf Coast to board tankers to be transported to whatever nation that had purchased the Canadian oil. The oil is currently being transported by train. A pipeline is much safer and the reason for the XL pipeline’s existence.

Kerry said: We have to do this in a way that people realize all of a sudden, “Wow…I’m going to be healthier, the air will be cleaner. I’m going to have a beautiful electric car that doesn’t make noise, that doesn’t spew out pollution. And it works just as well, if not more comfortably than any other car. I can have a better quality of life because my nation will be more secure because we’re producing all of our own energy and we don’t have to have, you know, the burning of a fuel which clearly contributes to a scientifically arrive at conclusion about the warming of the planet and the dangers to this planet.

Well, no. Nobody is going to be healthier. The “scientifically arrived at conclusion” exists only in the computers of some climate scientists who assumed that they know enough to enter the climate of the world into their computers so they could make decisions about the future of the world’s climate. They don’t know enough, and their output is causing major problems for the world.

Back in 2015, Christiana Figueres, who was General Secretary of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change I think) admitted at a press conference that the object of the Global Warming idea was to rid the world of capitalism. Not, actually, to improve our breathing at all.

There is a new book out on climate, from Patrick Moore, that is being hailed by those who know the most about climate and the problems. Moore was one of the founders of Greenpeace, but left when the organization stopped being concerned about the environment and became just another “profiteering hard-Left front group.” It’s clunky title is “Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom” Just $22.61 for the paperback at Amazon. Called by many as the best book on climate yet. I urge you to get it for yourself and your family. If you are feeling generous, buy an extra copy to send to President Biden or even to the “Climate Envoy”.

We had a major experiment in solar energy in the Southern California Desert called “Solyndra”. If you enter that name in the blank space over Bob Hope’s head in the sidebar, you will find several articles about the failed multi-billion dollar experiment. Governments, you may have noticed, are at best, very imperfect. They are trying and messing up at every level, city, county, suburb, country. We get weekly reports on how many people were shot in Chicago over the weekend. We have had BLM riots and marches, torn down statues, San Francisco just re-named all their schools to eliminate such racist names as George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln.

Japan has just committed to changing over to all electric cars within three years, I think it was. Mr. Toyoda, CEO of Toyota Motor Company promptly spoke out to say that they could not do that. Japan does not have enough electricity to support all electric cars. A while after I read that, there was a small article about Japanese scientists revisiting the site of the Fukushima nuclear disaster to measure the current radiation remaining to see how dangerous it currently is. They are clearly trying to come up with a way to increase their national electric power availability. Nuclear energy is clean and efficient, but the two accidents at Chernobyl and Fukushima have scared everybody off .

We are a modern industrial nation and we need and use a lot of energy. So far it has become very clear that wind and solar cannot produce the energy needed. Can not!

We are an imperfect species, and we don’t know as much as we think we do. We screw up a lot.

Flaming Rage does not usually lead to sound analysis. by The Elephant's Child

The House of Representatives voted to impeach Donald Trump for “incitement of insurrection.” Richard A. Epstein, one of our most important legal scholars, who is the Laurence A. Tisch Professor of Law and director of the Classical Liberal Institute at New York University, commented at the Hoover Institution, where he is fellow: “The Trial That Should Not Be“; Worth your time, not that long, and it’s good to have a clear legal take.

What a strange time we are living in. When you try to address the so-called “Big Picture”, reduce it to manageable information size, it boggles the mind. We have a new president, and the House of Representatives is trying to impeach the old one, when he is no longer in office, but relaxing and enjoying Florida, balmy weather, the golf course, and the absence of the press, or perhaps they are all hanging around the gates, ignored, waiting for him to do something really awful that they can write about derisively to make themselves famous.

Donald Trump is no longer President. He is the past president. Impeachment is meant to remove a president or other officer from office. There’s a major argument going on that they cannot vote to remove a president from office when he no longer holds an office. But they are not really trying to remove him from office anyway, they are just trying to make sure that he does not come back — ever. But of course they want him punished, disgraced, removed from history, removed from the news, removed from the people’s favor. They have loathed him from the first day when he came down that escalator. Part of it is, of course, that he is a Republican. Now they are trying to impeach a private citizen.

They have settled on the invasion of the Capitol Building as the cause, which gets even dicier, because that was done by other groups, BLM, Antifa? Not known just who they were. But Trump caused it with his speech about stolen elections. Well, no he didn’t. He asked his supporters to come to Washington and march down Pennsylvania Avenue with him to show their anger over a stolen election. Very large numbers of the public believe that the election was stolen unjustly, no matter how much the press tries to deny it. I keep mentioning the gentleman who was born in 1824, who voted in this election.

The Wall Street Journal suggests that in trying Mr. Trump, private citizen, they may revive public interest rather than ending it. As far as reading everything I could find on the capitol invasion, it appears that an unidentified group of dissidents organized on Twitter and Facebook. The rioters had already invaded the Capitol Building before Trump even started speaking.

Democrats started in with “Russian influence”as soon as Trump won the election, largely at Hillary’s behest. She is still stuck on that one, bringing it up again just last week.

The problem is that Democrats desperately want you to loathe Donald Trump just as much as they do, and they’re not going to stop until they get some satisfaction. Good Luck with that. In spite of the fiercely negative press, people are aware that Donald Trump was working hard for average working Americans. He had some truly major accomplishments while in office. His policies helped low-income and minority Americans most of all. You may not remember that Ronald Reagan was also called every vile name in the book, from “senile” to”fascist” and everything in between, yet his presidency shines as an example in our nation’s history. Here’s a list from issuesinsights.com (the former staff of Investors Business Daily) They list ten. https://issuesinsights.com/2021/01/21/trumps-top-10-triumphs-a-final-look-at-a-remarkable-presidency/ I think historians will treat Donald Trump very favorably. They are inclined to put the partisan rage aside and try to evaluate on the basis of accomplishment.

I’m really not sure just why they hated Donald Trump so much. He did not accept his presidential salary, but donated it every month to fulfill a national need. They hated him for that too. He even issued a presidential pardon to the bunnies who were test subjects in the climate science labs, and they can be released to happy homes. How can you not like that?

As President Joe Biden’s first actions become clearer, he is going to be a disaster. He suspended President Trump’s executive order to lower insulin and epinephrine prices for low-income people. The measure, was aimed to require some community health centers to deliver savings to low-income patients. The medicines people need to survive. The health centers objected, claiming the regulation was merely an administrative burden that paints them as entities that price-gouge patients. And now he’s just ordered ICE to release all their prisoners. We are the world, I guess. Come one, come all.

Trump aimed to use executive orders in Operation Warp Speed to get vaccines faster than anyone thought possible, and the industry fought back. Under Trump, prescription drug prices fell on aggregate for the first time in nearly half a century.

Now we have learned that Joe Biden has called British Prime Minister Boris Johnson about their “Build Back Better” agenda during a Saturday phone call. This is a very big deal. They apparently are accepting the appalling ideas of “The Great Reset” which are not only meant to destroy capitalism, but to put the world’s peoples firmly under government control. Enter the words “The Great Reset” over Bob Hope’s head in the sidebar and read it all, and use those words for your own search online. Visit Climate Depot, Wattsupwiththat, and Dr.Roy Spencer. The world has apparently gone certifiably nuts, and we’re just left behind to try to figure out what the hell is happening.

They don’t want the people to actually have all those freedoms promised by the Constitution. They can’t pack the courts to get them to deliver more favorable rulings. Freedoms that allow nasty people like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul to say unkind things about them and fight against their proposals, and actually allows someone like Donald Trump to become president. And of course they want to arrange things so that they win the elections all the time, not just part of the time.

Biden just ordered ICE to release all their prisoners, who are not just illegal aliens who have overstayed their welcome, but also people who have committed serious crimes, released. All of them, no matter what they have done, selling drugs, rape, everybody come and live in America? For careful accurate information on all matters about immigration, visit the Center for Immigration Studies, a think-tank devoted to that: http://www.cis.org

That, of course, is the reason for choosing cabinet members, not for their experience and skills, but for checking off “inclusiveness” blocks. New Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was not chosen because he loves to ride on trains, but because he is an openly gay man in a gay marriage. There is another official chosen because they are transgendered. I was going to point out ageism, but them I remembered that Joe Biden is our oldest president ever, and realized that category was covered.

The Biden Administration apparently requested protection during the Inauguration from the National Guard, from what, precisely, is not quite clear. The Trump administration has been cleared of any involvement in the invasion of the Capitol Building, which was apparently devised on Twitter and Facebook, by unknown radical groups. Sorry, Nancy, and Charles Schumer. Trump was not involved, much as you were hoping to use it to impeach him for illegally invading the capitol and endangering AOC who was “deeply frightened”.

The National Guard was from several states, but Gov. DeSantis from Florida asked his troops to come home, “rather than be shills for Nancy Pelosi”. They were apparently sent to sleep in a parking garage by Ms. Pelosi or President Biden, and Gov. DeSantis, highly offended, recalled his troops. President Trump, quickly offered the Trump Hotels as more suitable accommodations for the Guard. A parking garage? Good Grief.

Donald Trump has an outstanding record of cutting taxes, eliminating unnecessary regulations, aiding black families with opportunity zones, and charter schools — opposed by teachers unions, but which have given black kids more upward mobility. Democrats usually simply want to buy votes, not consider whether the cash benefit actually improves lives. I suspect historians will treat Donald Trump very well. They will be more interested in things accomplished rather than what rude name he called someone.

The inauguration has been weird. Instead of people on the mall, they filled spaces with flags, and photographers tried to avoid showing the emptiness. You had the new president speaking to an invisible crowd, waving to empty fields. The group photos of the event included shots of crowds from past inaugurations to make it look as if there really were people there to see the event. The presidential couple walked along, holding hands and waving to empty spaces. The photographers did a good job of trying to represent what the administration wanted people to see. The only shots of the National Guard were of them trying to sleep in a parking garage. I wanted to see what it really looked like, not to condemn or praise, just to grasp what the reality was. Not available. I guess people were told to stay away. Very odd.

The new president’s First Day Executive Orders were frightening because they were such a misjudgment. Hopefully, he’s got that out of his system, and will strive for some sort of normalcy. We’ll see.

First Day in Office, and ‘Executive Orders’ by The Elephant's Child

Here’s a short excerpt from The Ruling Class which I recommended earlier:
“For example the healthcare bill of 2010 takes more than 2,700 pages to make sure not just that some states will be treated differently from others because their senators offered key political support, but more importantly to codify bargains between the government and various parts of the healthcare industry, state governments, and large employers regarding who would receive what benefits (e.g. public employee unions, and auto workers) and who would pass what indirect taxes on to the general public. The financial regulation bill of 2010, far from setting unequivocal rules for the entire financial industry in a few words, spends some 2,500 pages tilting the field toward some and away from others. After the bill’s passage, the New York Times reported that the financial industry’s larger firms were hiring highly paid former federal regulators to conduct the negotiations that would spell out the law’s real meaning for each of them.

Even more significantly, these and other products of Democratic and Republican administrations and Congresses empower countless boards and commissions to arbitrarily protect some persons and companies while ruining others. These laws real meaning emerges from the charters that these boards and commissions write for themselves, from the identities of the persons appointed to run them and from the policies on which they settle.”

That gives you some insight into the workings of the “ruling class.”

Do you suppose that with “a stroke of the pen,” eliminating 11,000 jobs, President Biden may have just created 11.000 new Republicans?

Joe Biden’s Initial Executive Orders. by The Elephant's Child

Having just called, as Heather MacDonald said, “a significant portion of the American public “white supremacists”, racists, and nativists” in his inaugural speech as 46th president of the United States, it seems a little odd that Joe Biden’s speech is being hailed for it’s “unifying” message. So he issued a flurry of executive orders designed to dump anything left over from the Trump presidency. Notably, he cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline, though there was some legal doubt if he could do that, by executive order, and whether or not it was a treaty.

The newest thing is that the ocean is being polluted with Covid-19 face masks. People run down to the beach and throw their hated masks into the ocean? All the passengers on Cruise ships or ferries are throwing their masks overboard? Or perhaps it’s all the Chinese who are throwing their masks in the Yangtze?

Of Biden’s 17 executive actions, three dealt with corona virus, two with the economy, two with climate , two with racial equity, one with the census, one with ethics, one with regulation and five deal with immigration. Biden introduced one piece of legislation on his first day, it was comprehensive immigration reform plan called the U.S. Citizenship Act, which would provide a pathway to citizenship for the millions of illegal immigrants in the United States illegally. One other of his executive actions dealt with counting illegal immigrants in the census (for the purpose of allotting members of the House.) If you can cluster them in a state that is just too Republican, you can switch the representation. Illegal aliens being counted could fix that. Democrats believe firmly that they are entitled to be in charge, and they believe the illegal aliens will cement their dominance.

The climate references in the sidebar send you to many scientist’s websites, and to the results of their studies. Dr. Roy Spencer, for example, is the climate scientist who runs the satellites that measure world temperatures all across the globe for NASA. There’s a “heat-island” effect for the temperatures in cities, where heat is reflected off of concrete buildings and air-conditioner exhalations.

We have a national procedure for those who wish to enter the United States and become citizens. You apply, study up, and when it is you turn, take the citizenship test and become a citizen. We welcome new citizens. The Center for Immigration Studies (cis.org) is a think tank that studies all matters immigration related, and has all sorts of valuable information. I’m not inclined to just open the borders to all. But with Biden’s executive orders, the caravans of illegals are on the way.

Admitting illegals is very handy for the well-to-do. Cheap labor for everything from yard care to house construction, Makes groceries cheaper from farm labor. And above all, if we can just get them counted in the census, it will help to put Democrats in firm control of Congress. Make D.C. and Puerto Rico states. Do not underestimate the intense desire of Democrats to firmly control the rest of us. No more Trumps to confirm American freedom. They have no interest in American freedom.

Democrats have been demonizing President Donald Trump ever since he first descended the escalator. Vicious, illogical, and uncalled for. Anything to attack, make him look bad, insinuate, partisanship gone wild. Even the latest attempts to impeach are preposterous. They have tried to blame every death from the Covid-19 epidemic on him, and ignoring the actual errors by mayors and governors.

In the face of a poorly understood pandemic, he sent hospital ships to the major cities, halted traffic from China, and set the “warp-speed” effort to produce vaccines in place, which have successfully produced three different thoroughly-tested vaccines now being administered to front-line workers and then to the rest of us, Look back at the World War I influenza epidemic that killed some 50 million Americans.

Aside from that he has produced a roaring economy, peace in the Middle East with Arab nations establishing embassies in Israel, deciding that talking was perhaps better than shooting. The Democrats may be desperate to impeach him to make sure that he does not come back, but they are making a spectacle of themselves instead. They have tried to blame him for the Capitol intrusion, even somewhat successfully, but he was not responsible for it. It was reportedly planned on Twitter.

Should Democrats succeed in impeaching him, they will become an historical joke. Historians will treat Donald Trump very kindly. His accomplishments are real.

Addendum: I forgot to add that President Trump is the first president since Harry Truman to not get us into a war. A lot of service members and their families should be grateful.

I am not optimistic! by The Elephant's Child

President-Elect Biden will be inaugurated tomorrow. Washington DC is garlanded in American flags, the National Guard is very present. The Governor of Florida is furious that his National Guard Troops had to be “vetted” as if they were some kind of unknown military service from some unknown country. You may have noticed that there’s a remarkable amount of plain old rudeness going around.

President-elect Biden seems unfamiliar with both climate science and with basic economics. He wants to “rejoin” the Paris Climate Accords, which assume that the earth is overheating because of CO2 in the air, and the earth will die promptly if we do not eliminate fossil fuels. The earth is not overheating, it has been far warmer in the past and far cooler as well. Spending billions will make taxpayers poorer, but will not improve the climate at all.

The autistic child from Sweden who had been promoting school strikes there, came over to the United States to lecture the United Nations on the proper actions regarding climate. The Press, of course, loved her and she even got her picture painted on the side of a building in Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco. Money and invitations to speak flowed in, her parents hired someone to advise her on her speeches. Now she has just graduated from high school and is still promoting strikes, and her parents are doing very well financially.

President-elect Biden has issued all sorts of pronouncements about his very first day actions. Very scary. Big “stimulus” payments adding billions to the taxpayer’s debt, which economists say is not a good idea. Wants to naturalize any illegal aliens who were here on January first, and pretty much open the borders. There are already caravans on the way north. Some Central American countries have unfortunate governance, and the people are desperate for something better. Instead of demanding fixes for their own government, they are heading to this country where they hope to find work. Democrats hope to turn them all into Democrat voters.

The ideas of free speech and free people are unsurprisingly unpopular with the “ruling class” of many countries. Ruling classes want control, and we must constantly be watchful to deny them that privilege. Always seems strange that so many fail to understand that very basis essential fact.

Big Business Priorities Will Be Joe Biden’s Priorities. by The Elephant's Child

Big Business, having hired lots of illegal aliens as cheaper labor, now wants the new president to make them all citizens. The key word there is “illegal”. There is a formal system for entering our country to live and work, it’s called immigration. There is a procedure. You apply for admission and for citizenship, and wait your turn, study the Constitution, and take a test, and there will be a citizenship ceremony when you swear allegiance and are welcomed as new citizens. You just don’t ask a new president to waive all that for your convenience.

The initial idea seems to be that Google would take care of the internet advertising. Immediately services sprang up to offer to remove all ads for a small fee, and of course, you can just click on the ones you don’t want to make them disappear. There is a distinct limit to all the tee-shirts with cute sayings or kitties that people will buy. Google ads are remarkably unappealing. The fact that Google ads are not bringing in the needed revenue, means that websites are now deciding that you have to subscribe to read their offerings. I don’t know about you, but I visit about 20 different websites each day, and the likelihood of my buying 20 subscriptions is about nil. In the old days, before computers, people in good circumstances subscribed to their local daily newspaper, listened to the radio, and perhaps subscribed to a magazine or two. Readers Digest and The Saturday Evening Post come to mind. Far fewer people subscribe to magazines these days. You can just watch the shrinking magazine rack in your local bookstore. Radio remains free. But where are we to get the news? How do we remain informed citizens? Surprisingly. some really don’t want us to be informed.

We are under threat from Socialism, an enormous and growing national debt, a major pandemic, and a threat from Communist China, just to mention the more prominent ones. We require an informed citizenry. Democrats have been trying desperately to get rid of Donald Trump since the first day that he descended the escalator. First it was the Russians, and then they have been trying to stick him with some crime ever since. The latest, of course. is the riot and invasion of the Capitol Building. But the Russians were misinformation, and the invasion of the Capitol Building was the work of outside agitators, not any speech from President Trump. They apparently organized on Twitter. Nevertheless, Nancy Pelosi has tried once again to impeach him, now that his term in office is ended. They are terrified that he might come back in 2024 to run again. As they should be. Donald Trump has done an outstanding job as president, and historians will treat him well.

Here’s Victor Davis Hanson’s clear eyed view of Ms. Pelosi’s efforts which I urge you to read in it’s entirety. And I would suggest some resistance to the idea of making all the illegal aliens citizens. There are some really bad apples among that bunch, or where did you think all the illegal drugs flowing in from Mexico were coming from? They do have some helpers on this side of the border. The Border patrol does hard, and often dirty work, and deserves our support.

Biden’s COVID-19 ‘Rescue’ Plan is Based on 5 Big Lies by The Elephant's Child

This is a post from issuesinsights.com, a website created by the former editorial staff of Investors Business Daily. One you will want to add to your excellent website list.

This is another Big Biden Lie that we exposed on these pages a while ago. Currently, the U.S. leads the world in the number of vaccinations administered and the number who’ve been fully vaccinated, and ranks behind only the United Kingdom among western nations on a per capita basis. What’s more, daily vaccination rates continue to skyrocket in the U.S., topping 747,000 on the day Biden made his speech.

So why is Biden claiming the rollout has been a dismal failure? One reason is to bash President Donald Trump, but the bigger reason is to justify a massive new spending program to “fix” the problem.

4) “This gets money quickly into the pockets of millions of Americans who will spend it immediately on food and rent and other basic needs. As the economists tell us, that helps the whole economy grow.”

Biden was talking about his plans to cut another stimulus check of $1,400 to Americans, which would be on top of the $600 checks people are getting right now, thanks to the last $900 billion COVID-19 bill, as well as the $400 boost in weekly unemployment checks.

Do read the whole thing, and be sure to add issuesinsights.com to your list .
