Now here is one that should alarm you. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Thursday that the White House is working with Facebook to flag disinformation, it is also asking Facebook to share data on the reach and engagement of posts deemed disinformation.

“We’re flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation.”

And just what is “disinformation” and who decides what is “disinformation” and decides to have something “flagged”? NO, the people get to decide what is “disinformation”and reject it. Facebook is a partisan entity, and in spite of their famous “fact checkers” doesn’t know fact from a hole in the wall. They have long since proved that many times over.

If the White House wishes to dispute some ideas that are out there, press conferences are available, as are press interviews, and statements can be released, but the White House doesn’t get to decide what may or may not be published. Theoretically we still have a free press, which we are free to disagree with anytime. The press will be happy to print any accusations of “disinformation” which is one of their major functions. The President is free to offer his opinions and ideas and programs. The public is free to admire or reject those opinions and ideas. A Free press is a very big deal in the United States of America, and the public is free to admire or reject anything offered by CNN or other news outlets. The President is free to disagree or approve, but it all is and should be quite public. Forget the whole “Flagging” bit. Bad Idea.

ADDENDUM: Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) decried the federal governments efforts to instruct tech companies who to censor, which he deemed coordination between big government and monopolized big tech.
