Unfortunately we elect people to high office without learning if they actually know anything or will surround themselves with knowledgeable people, and countries sometimes end up with some real dummies. “Britain’s Boris Johnson arrived in Italy for a Group of 20 meeting on Friday with a stark warning: modern civilization could soon lie in ruins like ancient Rome if world leaders don’t act to curb climate change. (This is in preparation for the big G-20 gathering on Friday.) No insult to Boris Johnson intended.

Big Climate Conference in Scotland. Everybody flying in on their private jets to see and be seen. Obviously our Earth is having a climate crisis, is it not? The Climate Crisis news drifted out of the last Davos meeting of the rich and well-heeled. So who says we have too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? Seems to be the guy who is pushing for a One World Government.And obviously anything that comes out of Davos is sacred, is it not?

But too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? Carbon dioxide, CO2, is not a pollutant, but a natural plant food. Nurseries pump in a little extra CO2 to help the plants in their greenhouses to grow stronger and more lush. The climate is not changing any more than it seasonally does. The slight increase of CO2 in the atmosphere has helped to create bountiful crops all over the world. Even Afghanistan has bragged about this year’s crop yields, and Australia wrote up their successful crops for the world press. A little excess CO2 is helping to feed a hungry world. They said all those private jets flying in created more CO2 in the atmosphere that the whole nation of Scotland created in a year!

Sorry, Boris. The atmosphere of the Earth is controlled by the action of our sun, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it. Carbon Dioxide is not changing the climate, it’s plain old plant food, feeding a hungry world. There is no climate crisis, it was made up in one of those Davos meetings hopefully to rid the world of hated Capitalism. Christiana Figueres, who was at the time the General Secretary of the IPCC held a press conference at the time to explain to the world press that desireable purpose. Attendees at big Davos Conferences may be richer than you or me, but I’m not so sure about the brains!

Everybody rushed home from Davos, federal grants became widely available, which meant new lab equipment, new computers for clear information about what was happening out there. Well, they didn’t know either. But they entered what little they knew for sure in their computers, added their best guesses and some interesting possibilities and we were off the the races. If it’s a crisis, you can expect information to be changing, can’t you? Well, no. Whether it’s a crisis or not what we want is straight, honest information that we can act on. That shouldn’t be too much to ask, but apparently it is.
