Sorry! I had a cranky computer, and needed to work some problems out. Think it’s all fixed, and I can get back to normal. Horrifying to learn just how dependent on my computer I have become. Like “What day of the week is it” That’s not acceptable. We all have developed lists of those websites we visit regularly and depend on to alert us to what is going on on the world. And is it a good list? Are we properly aware that other people have vastly different lists and think other things are important? It’s probably very important to recognize those different lists and importances.

We are not only inundated with a constant flow of ideas with which we neither agree, nor even want to see or hear. So is that a good thing or a bad thing? Does that leave us more informed with a better understanding of the variety of ideas out there? Or does that, in a way just make us dumber?Do we need to be more deeply informed about the state of the world, all of it? Or dies the huge flow of news make us reject that which is not of immediate personal interest?

Lots of talk about “the Ruling Class,” Is that the one we elected? Do we just dump everything on them, expecting or hoping that they will do the right thing? Do we stay in touch with them to make sure they understand our expectations? Or did we do all we could or should by voting for or against them? Are there some voters who write to their representatives regularly, or contact their home offices regularly, or do you assume that you did everything that was necessary in voting for or against them in the first place? Should we be more closely keeping track of what exactly they are doing back there in the nation’s capitol? And letting them know what we expect?

Well, yes of course we should. How do we know what they are hearing from the folks back home? Is the only guidance they receive from us simply whether we voted them in or out? And how well were we informed when we voted them in? How much more should I be attempting to inform my congresspeople of my ideas and interests? That’s something I’m going to have to do some serious thinking about.
