The effort to change what has happened in the real world into something more politically useful, is constantly amazing. here’s Nancy Pelosi today on Breitbart:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said today on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the Republican response to the hammer attack on her husband turned off voters.(?)I am a Republican, and I do follow the news. The Republican response to the hammer attack on her husband was uniformly horror and disgust that such a thing should happen. Concern, and kind wishes that he was not seriously injured and would recover quickly.

Pelosi said, “What I’m hearing is it wasn’t just the attack, it was the Republican reaction to it, which was disgraceful, and that I think really the attack is horrible. Imagine how I feel as the one who was the target and my husband paying the price and the traumatic effect on our family, but that trauma is intensified by the ridiculous, disrespectful attitude that the Republicans. There’s nobody dissociating themselves from the horrible response that they gave to it.”

J guess that if things don’t happen the way you hope they will, you just re-invent them. I do follow the news pretty closely, I certainly did not hear or read anything about any Republican celebrating an attack on Mr. Pelosi. That’s just silly. But if you don’t get the ammunition you want, you just make it up. Now that IS disgraceful.

Off in the distance, say10 or more blocks away, it’s smoky, which indicates more forest fires in the Cascade Mountains. I’ll check in with the Forest Service to find out where. Also, far off in the Southwest sky there is a twinkling light. There seems to be no reason for it, no plane there. Just a mystery. One would think that forest fires are news and people want to be informed, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.Perhaps I’m just odd worrying about such things. First thing I want to know when I get up, but that may just be my heritage. If I find out where the fires are, I’ll let you know. Do you care?

I just wrote to the Forest Service to tell them that we would appreciate more information. Like and respect the U.S. Forest Service, but believe they need to to let us know what’s happening. We may seem like uninterested city people, but that’s not really accurate. I’ll keep looking for more information Had no idea it would be so difficult! I’ll try contacting Okanogan.
