Sigh! More brilliance from the Biden Administration! This supremely stupid move is done in the false belief that oil drilling has something to do with the climate, which it does not. The climate of the Earth is controlled by the action of our sun, not by our car exhausts. The sun is just fine, shining away up there, on rainy days, it is often a bit cooler, with rain clouds blocking some sunlight, but that’s the way the climate works. Not time for panic!
One would hope that at least some of our officials in Washington D.C.have had some basic science courses during their schooling, but apparently not. I have no idea what has made him think that blocking oil drilling accomplishes anything whatsoever. It’s bad enough when presidents don’t seem to know what they are doing, but apparently they are a little lacking in ability to hire advisers on the basis of their knowledge.
We are pursuing all sorts of efforts to keep the air clean, make sure car exhausts are not harming the atmosphere. Investigating and proposing electric cars that do not pollute. So far, it’s very hard for drivers to find a place to plug into the electric grid. Your friendly gas station around the corner was not prepared to plug everybody in.
Our local shopping center’s garage has spots where drivers can plug in while they shop, but I haven’t noticed any long lines of folks waiting to plug in. We will hear a lot from “climate activists” who seem to consider an Alaskan drilling project as an existential threat to life on Earth.
