Christine Blasey Ford is Done. She wants no prosecution, no investigation, no impeachment by The Elephant's Child

Christine Blasey Ford is done. She wants no prosecution, no investigation no impeachment. She just wants to go home and get on with her life. I suspect that she didn’t intend to testify in the first place, that she thought she could get Kavanaugh blamed with just the letter, and it grew out of control. Feinstein chose to sit on the letter and put Ford in the difficult position of having to present her testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee under the full media spotlight. The ‘Resistance’ expected a lot of her and she could not deliver. The persons she claimed as witnesses could not substantiate her claims, her story didn’t hold up. She had apparently remembered that it was Judge Kavanaugh who groped her (Not raped for all you women screeching about being ‘survivors”)) in high school, only when he was nominated to the Supreme Court. When did it take place? She couldn’t recall the  year, or the date, or the place, or the house. Didn’t know how she got there or how she got home. She named four people who were there, but none of them substantiated her claim.

She tried hard to get out of testifying. She was afraid of flying. Nobody told her of Senator Grassley’s offer to come to California to take her testimony. She had flown all over the world and many times to Hawaii, so that was a lie. Ford’s lawyers have publicly stated that she does not wish to see Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh impeached, nor does she want further investigation into her claims.

I suspect that she is terrified that there will be further investigation into her claims, and that she was badly frightened when the lie about the two doors  was exposed, and the lie about the illegal rental was exposed, and the lie about fear of flying was exposed. And the expert in sexual abuse witnesses didn’t believe her, and the body language expert didn’t believe her and explained why. And the screaming mob at the Supreme Court door, and the women all over the country basing their cries of “#Me Too” and “I was a survivor” on the phony testimony of Christine Blasey Ford. Did she not testify under oath? And is not lying to the committee a felony?

Democrats are going to great lengths to get enough votes in the midterms to take over the House or the Senate or something so they can impeach Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh for lying under oath. Because he was clearly guilty, because they desperately want him to be guilty — of something, anything. Because they must be in power. They want to get rid of the Constitution and it’s hateful amendments. And get rid of Trump’s tax cuts that only went to the rich anyway.  And get rid of Capitalism and end the threat to ObamaCare and to abortion,”women’s health care.”

Nancy Pelosi Inadvertently Explains Democrat Tactics by The Elephant's Child

The peculiarities of the Kavanaugh case and his confirmation as a Justice of the Supreme Court keep surfacing. Here is a transcript from C- SPAN in which Nancy Pelosi explains the Smear Tactics to be used on Trump-Kavanaugh.

Pelosi Wrap up Smear Transcription;

“You demonize – we call it the wrap up smear. If you want to talk politics. We call it the wrap up smear. You smear somebody with falsehoods and all the rest and then you merchandise it. And then YOU ( the press ) write it and we’ll say, see it was reported in the press that this this this and this so they have that validation that the press reported the smear. And then it’s called the wrap up smear – now I’m going to merchandise the presses’ report on the smear that we made. It’s a tactic and it’s self evident.” – 6 / 22 / 17

That was followed up by her letter to her “Democratic Colleagues:”   Do read the whole short letter. She speaks of the dignity and bravery (of the exposed lies of Christine Blasey Ford, and the heartbreak thereof.  Yes. Didn’t work.

She explains the Democrat’s agenda, and with it, manages to explain their total lack of understanding of basic economics and how capitalism works.

Then just posted by John Hinderaker at Powerline,

James Kunstler is a liberal who has a site called Clusterf*** Nation. Although a liberal, he casts a cold, intelligent eye on the follies of our time. The linked post begins by questioning why anyone would believe Christine Ford. What follows is an explosive theme:

I believe that the Christine Blasey Ford gambit was an extension of the sinister activities underway since early 2016 in the Department of Justice and the FBI to un-do the last presidential election, and that the real and truthful story about these seditious monkeyshines is going to blow wide open.

Stunning if true.

It turns out that the Deep State is a small world. Did you know that the lawyer sitting next to Dr. Ford in the Senate hearings, one Michael Bromwich, is also an attorney for Andrew McCabe, the former FBI Deputy Director fired for lying to investigators from his own agency and currently singing to a grand jury? What a coincidence. Out of all the lawyers in the most lawyer-infested corner of the USA, she just happened to hook up with him.

Read the whole short piece, it may be all coming apart.

ADDENDUM: I just found the video of Nancy Pelosi’s explanation of how they would go about smearing Judge Brett Kavanaugh.  One of the most disgusting episodes in Congressional history.

Summing-Up, Fact Checking, Questioning, Digesting the News by The Elephant's Child

This seems to be a day of summing up. Trying to digest and make sense out of the past few weeks.Very much is about the confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh, and the battle therein, from scenes of screaming protesters (female) having to be dragged out of a senate hearing room, to embarrassing revelations of the mindset of members of the media or protesters and commentators.

NBC reporter Ken Dilanian tweeted today that “States with varying population sizes should not get the same representation in the U.S. Senate.” Not fair! He was quoting a Washington Post article that said “Senators representing less than half the U.S. are about to confirm a nominee opposed by most Americans.” Um. Constitution. Senate has equal representation for all 50 states, directly because the states with large populations could overrule those with small populations. Basic. You’re fired.

—Is it possible there is hope for some small segment of the media? At American Thinker, Tom Lifson is astonished by a headline and a news story from, of all places, CNN.

—Why Republicans and sane people are celebrating the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh: Here’s a tweet from a writer on the Stephen Colbert show, who has nearly 40,000 followers on Twitter. (Apparently not blocked) One Ariel Dumas:
“Whatever happens, I’m just glad we ruined Brett Kavanaugh’s life.”

—Heather MacDonald in a post at City Journal titled “Trauma and Truth” says the confirmation of Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court dealt the #Me Too and #Believe Survivors a major defeat. “Those feminist ideologies will continue wreaking havoc throughout American institutions—especially the claim that self-professed sexual assault victims deserve Unqualified belief.”

—A new well-funded Progressive group, linked to Democratic campaign organizations, is based on demonizing senior citizens. They have decided to attempt to turn younger voters against senior citizens. Identity group warfare is supposed to be another strategy for success at the polls. If they’ve got gray hair, attack them? The group in question is called ACRONYM according to CNN, Sept 24.

Acronym [is] a progressive nonprofit launched last year by veteran digital strategist Tara McGowan to help narrow the advantage Republicans had built in digital capacity.

A progressive group on Monday launched a $3 million voter registration campaign in the 36 states that allow online registration, with a focus on Arizona, Florida and Georgia, CNN reported.

Here’s their first campaign advertisement: Seems dumb to me, but they apparently have lots of financing.

—A 27 year-old congressional staffer has been arrested for posting on Wikipedia the private addresses of members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, what’s called “doxing” or releasing the private information of public  figures, witness tampering, threats, identity theft, and unlawful entry. For the media, he is a hapless overzealous intern, but it was a criminal act, particularly in the current climate when everybody who is anybody is getting death threats.

—And finally, retired reporter Don Surber listened to President Trump’s version of the Six O’Clock News in Topeka, Kansas. He found it “less biased, more factual and presented better.” but decided he’d better fact-check the man.

“Believe Women?” Why? by The Elephant's Child

180928-kavanaugh-protest-al-1143_84921a6558de8d95d5b374c0e5380f2c.fit-760w

In the wake of all the Leftist hysteria out there, the most intellectually wanting is the cry “believe women.” Sorry, I have been a woman my entire life, which is probably longer than yours. This is silly, and insulting. Women are ordinary human beings and have all the flaws and foibles that come with being human. There’s a lot of variety. Women lie, some profusely. Women can be brilliant and completely stupid. Highly educated and uneducated, beautiful and not so much.

Women have led nations as presidents and queens, been famous and obscure. Been sluts and sex-workers and robbers and murderers. There are things women do better than men, just because they are the female of the species, and the opposite is true of men. If some women felt uplifted because of the “women’s march,” other women were deeply embarrassed by it.

Thinking is done in language, and understanding, a result of thinking, is expressed in language, but, when we simply adapt and recite what has been expressed, we have committed neither thinking nor understanding.

Slowly, Slowly, the Truth is Coming Out by The Elephant's Child

The more one reviews accuser Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony, the worse it gets — as I expressed in the previous post. There’s the little girl “up-talk”— the last syllable at the end of a sentence goes higher in tone. It’s another little girl thing. She’s just so unsure, she needs help to recall, doesn’t name anyone who can verify her memories.

I cannot imagine how anyone who talks like that could be a professor at a university and at Stanford Medical School. Nobody would take her seriously. Yet she seems so wounded, that it’s easy for viewers to take her defenseless little girl pose as the plaintive plea of a wronged woman, and assume that she is credible.

She pretends that she doesn’t understand the questions, needing more time to reply. When we first heard from her, she didn’t really know who it was, only that someone got on top of her and put his hand over her mouth. Then she was suddenly absolutely clear that it was Brett Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge.  All four of her confirming witnesses did not confirm her story. At Breitbart, John Nolte explores the veracity of her testimony with devastating results.

Christina Blasey Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that she began having memories of her abuse returned when she and her husband put, at her demand, a second front door on their house. She said she had never told anyone about anything until May 2012 when she went to couples counseling.

In explaining why I wanted a second front door, I began to describe the assault in detail. I recall saying that the boy who assaulted me could someday be on the U.S. Supreme Court, and spoke a bit about his background at an elitist all-boys school in Bethesda, Maryland. My husband recalls that I named my attacker as Brett Kavanaugh.

The second front door was already installed by March 2011, perhaps earlier,  and apparently installed as a door to an office where she had a private business called The Couples Resource Center.

According to information found on the Internet, a business was located at the exact same address as the Ford house (please note that the address of this house was released on the Internet weeks ago). The Couples Resource Center was located at the exact same location as the Ford’s home.

Michael Walsh takes on the profession of journalism as it relates to Ford, and the media does not come off well.

Victor Davis Hanson summed it all up nicely in a single paragraph:

The “process” of memorializing Ford’s testimony involved a strange inversion of constitutional norms: The idea of a statute of limitations is ossified; hearsay is legitimate testimony; inexact and contradictory recall is proof of trauma, and therefore of validity; the burden of proof is on the accused, not the accuser; detail and evidence are subordinated to assumed sincerity; proof that one later relates an allegation to another is considered proof that the assault actually occurred in the manner alleged; motive is largely irrelevant; the accuser establishes the guidelines of the state’s investigation of the allegations; and the individual allegation gains credence by cosmic resonance with all other such similar allegations.

The descriptions of the house, what one can hear of people going up and downstairs , she contradicts herself. Supposedly her friend Leland drove her home, but Leland denies the whole thing, says she never encountered Kavanaugh at all, and has no knowledge of the party. Ford reports proudly of her polygraph, (her lawyers made her do it) and neither the lawyers nor herself as a practicing psychologist should be unaware of the limitations of polygraphs.

And at Powerline, John Hinderaker comments on the smear:

Brett Kavanaugh enjoys one of the most spotless reputations of anyone in American public life. He has been enthusiastically endorsed by those who have known him all his life–by girls he knew in high school and college, by judges he has served with, by professors and students and Harvard and Yale law schools, by judges who have worked with him, by his judicial clerks–most of whom have been women–by the American Bar Association, by sitting Supreme Court justices. In short, everyone who has ever known or dealt with Brett Kavanaugh endorses him.

I think that Judge Kavanaugh’s pristine reputation is one reason why the Democrats have unleashed against him a smear campaign unparalleled in American history. This is the message they are trying to send: If we can do this to the Boy Scout Brett Kavanaugh, we can do it to anyone. Are you thinking of serving in a Republican administration? Or accepting an appointment to the federal judiciary from a Republican president? Think twice, and then think again.

Nope, I don’t believe a word of it, including her claim that she was sexually abused. Her story just falls apart.

My Summary of the Entire Kavanaugh Extravaganza by The Elephant's Child

FB-090617-Chuck-Schumer

The Kavanaugh nomination continues to dominate the news. Democrat propaganda efforts have seen to that. I don’t know just who does their propaganda, but they have become quite good at it. If you recall, with the women’s march, the bellyaching by feminists that they don’t yet occupy all the really important positions in the country, and of course, the #Me-Too movement, sexual abuse has become a big prominent deal.

Federal Judge Brett Kavanaugh has been nominated to the Supreme Court. Senator Charles Schumer has spoken out to say essentially that no, we cannot have a conservative or a Republican appointed to the Supreme Court, because Democrats have to be in the majority and in charge. As the time for Kavanaugh’s hearing approaches, lo and behold, at almost the very last minute Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has a letter from a woman who claims that Brett Kavanaugh abused her when they were in high school 36 years ago. Senator Feinstein has had the letter since July, but just didn’t think of making it public until just before the Kavanaugh hearing, Purely a coincidence of course.

The woman is identified as Christine Basely Ford, a professor at Palo Alto University. She claims that at a party 36 years ago the high school boys were all drunk, Kavanaugh held her down and put his hand over her mouth, and she was very frightened. When was this? She can’t really remember. Well, where was this? She can’t remember where the party was. She can’t remember how she got home. Did she tell anyone? About 12 years ago when she and her husband were in couples counseling, she suddenly remembered and told the therapist. Palo Alto University is a college for psychology and counseling.

Chairman Grassley says they will arrange to hear her on Monday. She will not come on Monday. She wants the FBI to investigate the whole thing before she will testify, because she has received death threats and nasty calls. The FBI doesn’t do investigations to determine who is right in a he-said she-said argument. Women’s march feminists assume, with help from Democrat propagandists that she was raped, but she has never claimed that as far as can be determined. She says she won’t testify until she can be protected because she is very frightened — death threats. The question seems to be can she drag out the contretemps long enough to get the Kavanaugh  nomination dumped? Raise enough suspicions? Etc. Etc. Etc.

Kavanaugh is adamant that it never happened. His friend from high school also says it never happened. Many women who knew Kavanaugh in high school say Kavanaugh was always a perfect gentleman. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Hollywood celebrities, whose names I do not recognize, but I’m not very up-to-date, are quick to chime in and demand that Ford be given a hearing, #Me-Too, Etc. Etc. Etc. Why are we forced to listen to Hollywood celebrities who are famous because they once appeared on a screen somewhere, who know nothing whatsoever, but demand to be listened to because they once appeared on a screen somewhere? They have no claim to any expertise, they just like to sound off, and lazy reporters can just pick up what they said online.

That’s my best summary of what is happening. Let me know if my summary is haywire. The propaganda is skillful, the Democrats are deeply opposed to the Constitution and want it abolished, because it is a brake on their quest for control. They particularly hate the Electoral College, citizenship laws, free speech, the first and second amendments, and most of the rest of it as well. Obama used to say that the Constitution was wrong because it said what the government may not do, to the people, and it should have said what the government must do — for the people.

ADDENDUM: Here’s Breitbart’s timeline of events, far more comprehensive than mine. The Thursday date would apparently make it too late for Kavanaugh to be confirmed for the new court session, which begins October 1.   Democrats have again “suggested” that Clarence Thomas is a proven sexual predator, With the  Thursday date for testimony, the Democrats’ game is exposed. They are not nice people, and they play very dirty. And their goal is power and control.

Here’s Powerline’s list of Ms. Ford’s demands:

Citing “sources,” Fox News’ Shannon Bream reports on the demands Christine Blasey Ford and her legal team are making as a condition for her testifying about her allegations against Brett Kavanaugh:

Ford team wants NO questions from lawyers, only Qs from Committee members, #Kavanaugh cannot be in the room, Kavanaugh must testify FIRST – more to come …

These demands are absurd. No questions from lawyers? I guess Ford wants to be able to claim she’s being persecuted by an all-white-male panel. She doesn’t want a woman to examine her, which I imagine is what the Republicans have in mind.

ADDENDUM II

Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley (R-IA) set a final deadline today for Judge Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyers to agree to have her testify at a hearing next week.  If Ford’s lawyers do not reach an agreement to one of the options they have been offered, Grassley will schedule a committee vote on Kavanaugh for Monday.

Jordan Peterson: The Fatal Flaw In Leftist Thought by The Elephant's Child

One can assume that Jordan Peterson became a Clinical Psychologist because he was curious about what makes people tick, and when you get into that there are far more questions than answers. And so he became a professor and keeps studying and analyzing, and the Universities got all weird, and politics got all weird, and the Canadian government began to tell him what language he must use to describe human beings, and that annoyed him most fiercely. And so he has become a public figure with his speeches and videos and the rest of us are able to have the benefit of his thought, for which I am most grateful.  He’s good.
