A Lesson in Pure Partisanship by The Elephant's Child

More jottings from my notebook:

No date, but the conversation makes the time element fairly clear. This is Chris Matthews at MSNBC explaining partisanship to the uninitiated.

Before I get started today I want to express how grateful I am for the awe-inspiring leadership of my president. Syria is a bloodbath, Iraq is in the hands of terrorists, Israel is on the verge of war with the Palestinians, and Russian troops are in Ukraine.  On top of that we’ve got the Benghazi, IRS, NSA, and VA scandals and our Southern border is rife with diseased children, gang members and Middle Eastern terrorists donning sombreros. All these problems that were created by the Bush administration would have crippled the most stoic of leaders. Yet, last night I saw a news video of President Obama laughing and enjoying himself in Denver as he ate Pizza, drank beer and played billiards. Our president is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, but you’d never know it by looking at him. Today he’s headed to the golf course before attending three different fundraisers. Tomorrow he’s shooting a game of hoops with LeBron James and Barbara Streisand before hosting a $45,000 a seat fundraiser at Steven Spielberg’s East Hampton. Calm, cool and self-assured folks. Those are the characteristics of a leader.

You can probably guess why I copied this down. It was hard writing because I couldn’t stop giggling. It’s all so innocent.

Chris Matthews to Michael Steele: how come Republican Blacks are integrated? Why don’t you segregate them like the Democrat Party? by American Elephant

[updated to embed video]

Seriously! Being a half-wit, he, of course, doesn’t realize that’s what he’s saying, but it’s precisely what he says nonetheless. Is the man’s mouth attached to his brain? Is his brain attached to anything? He goes to a Democrat convention, sees blacks and whites segregated into racial groups and sees the realization of MLK’s dream; he goes to the Republican convention and sees blacks and whites mixed together, interacting , integrated and he sees racism.

I will grant that Matthews is quick — hyperactive really — he’s the fastest interrupter this side of the Atlantic and his mouth moves a mile a minute. The problem is that it isn’t connected to anything — at least not to anything that works. Transcript:

I go to the Republican convention; I go to the Democrat; and as a white guy, one of the things I notice about the difference — one thing I notice about black people at different conventions — you go to the Democrat convention — black folk are hanging together having a good time; they’re all smiling and enjoying themselves — they feel very much at home. You go to Republican, you get the feeling you are all told individually “now don’t bunch up, don’t get together, don’t get together, don’t crowd or you’ll scare these people. Is that true in the Republican Party? Is that still true in your party? Did you fear that if you get together with some other African Americans that white guys might get scared of you?

…isn’t there still a difference between the two parties on race?

Yes! Chris, there is! Republicans are still the party of integration; Democrats are still the party of segregation. The Republican party has always been the party that treats black people as equals, and the Democrat party has always been the party, and remains the party to this day, that treats blacks (and other minorities) as inferiors, first as slaves, then as untouchables, now as helpless victims who need special rules, a thumb on the scales, and the helping-hand of  enlightened, benevolent, white “progressives”to get ahead. A philosophy, I might add, that has been devastating to the black community. Yes, Chris, Republicans are still the party that judges people by the content of their character while Democrats forever judge people by the color of their skin.

And that Steele couldn’t smack that condescending slimy spitball of a smear out of the park is about as concise an explanation as any why he is no longer Chairman of the GOP.

“I Admit I’m Marxist When it Comes to my Analysis”…

And Rachael Maddow enthusiastically chimes in that this is one of the circumstances when it’s apparently okay for them to be “absolute purists”. As opposed to their usual moderate Marxism???

Can we please stop pretending these radicals are anything even approaching “mainstream”?

(via Weazel Zippers)

Update: Mika Brzezinski, MSDNC co-host and daughter of the disastrous Carter National Security Adviser concedes that its time for journalists to stop pretending they aren’t Democrats. To which I add, can’t we also stop pretedning that today’s Democrats aren’t largely Marxists.

Progressive Network Calls West Point “Enemy Camp” by American Elephant

As usual, the “progressive” leftists at MSNBC have harsher language for our troops and conservatives than they do for our nation’s enemies. But Chris Matthews plumbs new depths on a network that seems to exist solely to plumb new depths, when he calls actually calls the cadets at West Point Military Academy the enemy. (Keith Olbermann can be heard in the background signalling his agreement with an, “mm hmmm”, and Rachael Maddow chimes in, “I think you’re right Chris.”

Another accidental moment of honesty by the progressive network shills for this administration. Catch liberals off their guard if you want them to tell you how they really feel.

Matthews should resign, but of course this is tame stuff for progressives.

(But it still gives me an opportunity to dredge up a story I missed last week about sanctimonious, race-bating, progressive MSNBC being  the whitest network on TV. Heh. Do as they say, not as they do? )
