Governing America With Chicago-Style Politics by The Elephant's Child

Michelle Malkin exposes today how the Obama administration’s “new loyalty rewards program for progressives” is a program to appease the far left who were disappointed in furious with ObamaCare because it did not go straight to single-payer government-run health care — better known as socialized medicine.

Obama has never settled in as the president of all Americans, nor just as president of Democrat Americans. He seems to see himself as the leader of the most powerful country in the world, and his job is to bring it down to size. He is unconstrained by the Constitution, ordinary laws, custom or tradition. It is an extremely odd position, and there is a vast army of people trying to figure it out. The position is so different from that of any other president we have known. We want to know what makes him tick, and he is unprepared to reveal any such thing.  He brought to the office a vast confidence that his speech would move the masses around the world, that he had “a gift,” and an insider’s knowledge of Chicago politics and its requirements.

I have never been to Chicago, so my information is all from what I read, and from my long-time next door neighbors who are from Illinois. It is crony capitalism at its worst. But that is a feeble term to describe the problem. You give me large amounts of campaign money, and I will give you access.  If you have a project, a business, a startup, or an investment — I will reward you with funding obtained by taxing the public. Your project doesn’t have to be legitimate, and you can cook your books, but we will try to keep you from being hauled into court. You can give yourself and your friends huge salaries and bonuses, just follow the rules so you don’t get in trouble or get us in trouble. In return, I expect more donations next time, and your efforts to get me re-elected, in which case we will repeat the process. If you mess up and get indicted, you go right under the bus. That’s the story of all those “green” investments. Taxpayer money for cronies.

Now, the White House will create a $6 billion network of non-profit “CO-OPs” that will “compete” with private insurers. They celebrated the release of nearly $700 million in taxpayer-funded low-interest loans for seven CO-OPs in eight states. They will be administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The fund will finance more money into CO-OP plans nationwide over the next year. In 2014, the plans will be offered on the federally approved and federally monitored state health exchange “marketplace.” Of course, in the Chicago way, campaign donors get special ObamaCare waivers.

This is a direct attack on non-subsidized, for-profit insurance companies. Obama has been falsely demonizing them for 4 years as greedy outfits that force people into bankruptcy if they get sick. The program’s overseers predict a nearly 40 percent default rate for the loans. Obama has done an outstanding job of destroying the best health care system in the world. Do read Michelle Malkin’s whole article.  She has a sharp eye for what is really going on. Corruption, Chicago style.

Murkowsky-appointed Judge Orders Joe Miller’s private documents made public by American Elephant

Contrary to this corrupt judge’s ruling (a judge appointed by Lisa’s daddy), public officials do NOT give up their right to privacy. This is the reason we still don’t have Barack Obama’s birth certificate, college transcripts, or full medical records. (birds of a feather: Obama only won his senate seat by getting corrupt Chicago judges to unseal the divorce records of his opponents).

This is politics at it’s dirtiest.

Clearly Sarah Palin did not finish her good work cleaning up corruption in Alaska:

“I hold that although Mr. Miller has a legitimate expectation of privacy in those documents, Mr. Miller’s right to privacy is indeed outweighed by the public’s significant interest in the background of a public figure who is running for the U.S. Senate,” the judge said. He noted that U.S. senator is among the highest elected offices in the nation.

Burbank ordered that nothing actually will be released until Tuesday afternoon, however, to allow for the ruling to be appealed to the Alaska Supreme Court.

The judge said that about 30 of the documents being sought would not be released. Twice that number would be redacted. The case was brought by a group of Alaska news media organizations, which have been trying since summer to see borough documents concerning Miller’s employment as a part-time borough attorney.

Yet more proof that Lisa Murky is exactly the type of corrupt, sleazy, power-hungry scoundrel  that Americans need to RID congress of. If you are an Alaska voter, PLEASE clean up your state and do whatever you have to do to vote for Joe Miller. I don’t care if you have to hike 50 miles uphill in the snow to get to the polls — VOTE! This sleazeball must be kicked out of congress!

And no matter where you live, you can contribute to and volunteer for the Joe Miller campaign here. (An added bonus for contributing to the Miller campaign, is that Alaska is a small market, and your dollars will go much further than they would in most of the lower 48, so every dollar really does count.)

If by chance you give the maximum donation to Miller’s campaign, other groups you can also contribute to that are working to elect Joe Miller are the Club for Growth and the Senate Conservatives Fund.

Honesty and Character Remain the Best Policy. by The Elephant's Child

So the Democrats have to bribe their own Senators and Congressmen to get them to vote for ObamaCare. Every poll indicates that the bill is deeply unpopular with the public.  Rasmussen polled Nebraska voters on a match between Senator Ben Nelson, who provided the decisive vote after receiving a permanent exception for Nebraska from increases in Medicaid costs, against Republican Governor Dave Heineman.

For an incumbent Senator to trail by 30 points in a hypothetical race is more than unusual.  Only 17 percent of Nebraska voters approve of the deal Sen. Nelson made on Medicaid in exchange for his vote.

Overall 63 percent of Nebraskans oppose the health-care legislation including 53 percent who are Strongly Opposed.  56 percent believe that passage of the legislation will hurt the quality of care, and 62 percent say it will raise costs.

Senator Nelson is trying desperately to figure out how to spin his vote.  Nancy Pelosi says she’s quite willing to lose many seats in order to pass ObamaCare. That fact in itself indicates that “health care” is not really about anyone’s health.  2012 is three years away, and who knows what might happen in the meantime.  But voters don’t like corruption, and they have surprisingly long memories.

Obama Moves DNC to Notoriously Corrupt Chicago by American Elephant

Corrupt Obama

In a major shakeup at the Democratic National Committee — and a departure from tradition — large parts of the committee’s operations are relocating to Chicago to be fully integrated with the Obama campaign. [read more]

Chicago’s notoriously corrupt politics have been very good to Obama. After all, this is the city where liberal judges were convinced to make the unprecedented order to open the divorce records of his two previous opponents. Outlandish decisions in two subsequent elections that had the purely coincidental result of ensuring that Obama won both elections.

With virtually no organized Republican presence in Chicago, this highly unusual move is clearly intended to help the cash-strapped DNC and cash rich Obama campaign pull-off corrupt shenanigans without accountability.

Perhaps Obama’s friend Tony Rezko can help them with their real-estate needs on his way to prison.
