Here Are the Democrats’ Current Talking Points by The Elephant's Child

They have decided that the situation that gets the most reaction from voters is the “ripped from the arms of their mothers” line about the Border. Chelsea Clinton, now sorta-kinda intimating that she might consider running for office, was in Edinburgh for a Book Fair, I guess pushing a book or books in the “she persisted” thought line. She went on at great length about how truly awful it was of Trump to allow little children at the border to be “ripped from the arms of their mothers.” A really emotional line for female voters, but fact-free.

The second talking point is the absence of any mention of impeachment, which polls very well for Republicans. The public does not like all the talk about impeachment, so the word will not cross the lips of any Democrat.

The third, you have already heard: Trump is an unIndicted co-conspirator.  If you haven’t heard that in the last two days, you haven’t been paying attention. What it means is another matter entirely—which is nothing, nothing at all, but it sounds important.

David Horowitz explained it very well in his book Take No Prisoners. He wrote:

Politics is always a gamble. No one be sure what tactic will succeed, which is why we have to respect each other and keep our coalition strong, even when we disagree.

I said we were not good at politics. Actually we’re pretty terrible at politics. Whenever a Republican and a Democrat square off, it’s Godzilla versus Bambi. They call us racists, sexists, homophobes, and selfish pigs, and we call them….liberals. Who is going to win that argument? They spend their political dollars calling us names and shredding our reputations; we spend our political dollars explaining why the complicated solutions we propose will work and why theirs won’t. But when you are being called a racist, an enemy of women, and a greedy S.O.B., who will listen to your ideas about the budget? Who is going to believe you when all your motives are portrayed as vile?

Yes, they’ve called us names, vile names. The pessimistic view doesn’t stick. Better economic policies are the primary reason the economy has improved since 2016. If pro-growth policies continue, the economy’s strong performance will continue. Republicans are on the march.

U.S. economic performance is the strongest in years. One policy driving this turnaround is the substantially lower corporate-tax rate, which has made the U.S. more competitive with other countries. Regulatory changes—such as the partial rollback of Dodd-Frank and new leadership within the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau—also have proved helpful, particularly for small businesses, which are benefiting from lower record-keeping and compliance costs. Meanwhile, the number of regulatory pages in the Federal Register has been cut by a third since President Obama’s last year in office. That’s a major reason the National Federation of Independent Business reports that more small-business owners are hiring than ever. They’re also increasingly optimistic about the future of the U.S. economy.

As the two hallmarks of recovery are still rising, the economy likely has not reached its new, higher growth path. This means that the U.S. can expect above-normal growth in the coming months, possibly even years.

The “Ripped From Their Mothers’ Arms” Meme Is Sheer Bunk! by The Elephant's Child

I frequently say something about “doing your homework”, by which I mean that you can no longer count on the information from our national media to be either true nor accurate. You have to make an effort to find out if what you are reading is actually true. If you just repeat the talking points, you are not only dishonest yourself, you are aiding a program specifically designed to make you support a lie.

The current line of attack is that the Trump administration is “ripping vulnerable children from the arms of their mothers” at the border, because of Trump’s demand for a border wall. Obviously if you want a big wall to keep citizens of other countries from entering our country, you must be racist, homophobic, xenophobic, Hitler, and just plain mean.

We have just had a chorus from the former first ladies, who think it’s perfectly awful that we are “ripping vulnerable children from the arms of their mothers.” Let’s clear this up a bit.

If you are a nation, you have a right to decide who you will allow to move in. William Voegeli in The Pity Party explained;

“In contrast to America, countries like Canada and Australia treat immigration the way Harvard treats college admission or the New England Patriots treat the NFL draft as a way to get the talented  that can benefit the institution and keep out the untalented. Here in America we increasingly treat immigration as if it were a sacred civil right possessed by 7 billion foreigners.”

We allow asylum seekers to enter the country, but ‘asylum’ has a strict meaning. It means that you are escaping a government that wants to harm you for your religion, politics or ideas. It does not mean that you want to get away from an abusive husband, it’s about the government.  We have embassies  and consulates all over the world, where one can apply to immigrate to America. There are legal procedures and a long wait list, which is made long by “chain migration.” A citizen can currently “sponsor” all of his or her relatives. Mother, father, adult children, brothers. sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins. Our country believes that we can currently handle about a million new immigrants a year, who we help to find a residence, learn English and learn American History, find health care, get help in getting settled and help with their needs. Those who have legally applied, paid their fees, have often been on the wait list for years. Most of the numbers are used up by chain migration, and there is little room for those who just want to make their home and life here.

Contrary to our first ladies (who should have done their homework) children are not being “ripped from the arms of their mothers”. If the parent has entered the country illegally, they have committed a crime. They are detained. We have a law that says you can’t put a kid in prison with their parents. They are moved to facilities designed to help the children.  I have described this thoroughly in a previous post, 4 posts back beginning “the evil Donald Trump.” It is the law, and the Trump administration must obey.

The Obama administration, ignoring the law, admitted many “parents” and their children without checking them out, only to find that the “parent” was a trafficker, and what were really unaccompanied children were turned over to egg farms to work in slave conditions, chicken packing, and even sex work. And yes, the Obama administration did park kids in cages. Democrats were trying to use the photos against Conservatives, but the photos were clearly from the Obama administration, so that claim quickly vanished, and we moved to the “ripped from the arms” bit.

The Center for Immigration Studies (cis.org) is the most reliable source for information about immigration. They describe themselves  as pro-immigrant, anti-illegal immigrant. They work hard at providing accurate information for the public and for public official. Unfortunately, we have a lot of public officials who don’t do their homework either.

The “Talking Points” Are Plain Leftist Propaganda by The Elephant's Child

Democrats operate on “talking points” which are supplied by their wordsmiths.  They depend on controlling the conversation, and if many speak in the same words, their “talking point” dominates. The more it is repeated, the stronger it becomes. It is, of course, all about power and control. It’s simply pure propaganda, a weapon in their political goal.

Whoever sends out the “talking points” managed to screw up rather badly yesterday, attempting to turn Israel’s celebration of the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as the legitimate capitol of their country by moving our embassy there into a negative. Trump was wrecking the “Peace  Plan.” President Trump has sent Jared Kushner and Ivanka to Jerusalem as his representatives. Of course Hamas, the terrorist organization that controls Gaza, arranged a major demonstration, hoping to breach the wall and kill large numbers of Jews. Hamas pays residents of Gaza to demonstrate, and women and children are forced into the forward ranks, so that if the Israeli army resists the attack, Hamas will have the dead or wounded women and children as evidence of the evil of the Jewish people of Israel.

Odd that no one mentions all the Palestinian children treated in Israeli hospitals, or for that matter, both Mahmoud Abbas, the president of Palestine and his wife have been treated in Israeli hospitals.

Israel gave the Palestinians Gaza, which is a prime piece of real estate with lovely beaches, and could be a major tourist destination, but Hamas is only interested in eliminating the Jewish State. The Associated Press has willfully and deliberately reported false casualty figures in Gaza out of fear of Hamas”s retribution. And the New York Daily News, spotting an opportunity to attack Trump, really went way too far. It was disgusting, and very deliberate. They knew better.

Newt Explains the Facts of Life to David Gregory. by The Elephant's Child

And does a good job of it. Poor David Gregory makes a fool of himself, trying desperately to clutch onto the wrong story. You can get your story out when every media lefty says the same thing in the same words, but you can’t make the people swallow propaganda all the time.
