What if you held a political rally and nobody came? Despite giving out free t shirts, free entertainment, and bussing in paid union thugs, the socialist “One America” rally failed to attract anywhere near the kind of interest of recent Tea Party events. Indeed, CSPAN was so embarrassed by the pathetic turnout that they tried to pass off photos of the Glenn Beck rally as though they were pics of this failed socialist event.

(image: Politico)

In all fairness, The Daily Show‘s John Stewart and Steven Colbert will be holding another liberal rally at the end of the month, just before the election. A “Restore Sanity” rally or somesuch, which appears to mostly be a “we hate Glenn Beck” rally and will attempt to claim the mantle of “moderation” while being a rally in support of the radical left wing regime. I expect that rally will have much higher attendance than today’s did because of the celebrities and publicity. But we shall see. If that one is a flop too, it will spell utter doom for Democrats in November.

‘D’ is for DEPRESSION, ‘R’ is for RECOVERY! by American Elephant

Yesterday, the DNC hyped that they would have a major announcement today that would excite Democrats nationwide; the implication being that the DNC had something big, something Earth-shattering that would be a game-changer. Perhaps an exciting new poll? or a dirty September surprise? After all, what could possibly excite dispirited, dejected Democrats at this point other than some good electoral news?

So what was this bombshell? Had they finally decided to listen to the American people and change direction? Did they have some new prescription to get America out of the Depression that started a year after they took control of congress and that their policies and promised policies not only caused, but are exacerbating?

Not quite.

No, they’re going to keep right on pushing the same disastrous policies. Their huge game-changing revelation is that they…wait for it… developed a new logo.

Wheeeee! </sarcasm>

Indeed, Democrats are apparently SO enamored with Obama’s car analogy (the one he’s used in campaign speeches lately in which “D” stands for “drive” and “R” stands for “reverse”),  that they invested their party identity in it — the new logo clearly evocative of the “drive’ symbol on a car’s gear shift. That is what the left does after all. They don’t change their policies when they have clearly failed — they simply change the name, get a new spokesman, or slap a new logo on it.

Indeed, there’s no better example of that than the Marxist miscreant now occupying the Oval Office. His ideas are as old as they come — command and control, centralized, dictatorial government. Indeed, he himself admitted that his party has been trying to pass socialized healthcare for a hundred years! (The obvious rejoinder to which is that Americans have been rejecting socialized medicine just exactly as long.)

But man, he sure had a sweet logo!

I would remind Obama, Democrats, and the American people, however, that “D” and “R” stand for a lot more than just “drive” and “reverse” — they also stand for words that are much more relevant this crucial election season. After the past four disastrous years of a Democrat-controlled congress, what should be crystal clear to everyone is that ‘D’ is for “Depression” (which is the only place Democrats have driven us), and ‘R’ is for recovery!

(PS: Has anyone else noticed how the Obama logo, all his graphics and now the new Democrat logo eschew the traditional blue of the American flag for United Nations cyan? Maybe it’s unintentional — not likely, but possibly unintentional — but  either way, it certainly is appropriate.)

Six Feet Under and Digging Fast by American Elephant

Obama hits new low: 41% approve, 58% disapprove.

64% say country is headed in the wrong direction.

Generic Ballot Average: Republicans 48% Democrats 40%.

68% support smaller government, lower taxes.

Democrats abandoning Obama on tax hikes.

Rubio 43%, Crist 29%, Meeks 23%. (Keep in mind, however, that I fully expect Democrats to abandon Meeks and support Crist if these numbers don’t change soon.)

Blunt 53%, Carnahan 43%.

Fiorina 48%, Boxer 47%.

Whitman 48%, Brown 45%.

Virginia Democrat: “If you don’t tie our hands, we’ll keep stealing.”

But don’t get cocky! Get involved! Democrats have a long documented record of convictions of vote fraud, registration fraud, voter intimidation, campaign finance violation, violence, vandalism, lies, ballot box stuffing, October surprises and every other dirty trick in the book. I fully expect this year and 2012 to be worse than ever before.

If we want to undo the damage Democrats have done, we have to win every single race we can at both the federal and state level. And when Democrats are such dirty cheats, that means we have to win BIG. As someone said, “if it isn’t close, they can’t steal it.” And a great many of these races will be close.

If you haven’t been already, now is the time to donate and volunteer for the candidates/party you support.

Cruising for the 30′s. Naturally, Gallup tries to hide that fact by burying it in the 5th paragraph.  Indeed, the author is so intent on protecting Obama that you have to go to Real Clear Politics to learn that Obama’s disapproval is up to 53% in this poll.

Keep in mind, this isn’t a poll of registered voters or likely voters, but all adults — the group most likely to support Obama.

In response, MSNBC is now charging that Gallup is racist.

Dog Bites Man: Democrats Raise Taxes by American Elephant

When all you have is a hammer, as they say, every problem looks like a nail. In that vein, when you are a leftist so-called “progressive”, which by definition means you don’t know how to do anything but use government force, then the answer to every problem becomes using that force to take more and more power, more liberty and more life’s-work away from the American people.

Washington State Democrats, desperate for more money to pay their own exorbitant salaries and benefits, have now added brand new “sin” taxes on soda, candy, beer and bottled water.

Coincidentally, unemployment can now be expected to increase in the local soda, candy, beer and bottled water industries.

When government spending is the problem, how stupid do you have to be to think more government spending is the solution?

KAPOW! Right in the Kisser! by American Elephant

Hot damn. If this video from the Republican Governor’s Association is any indication of the type of campaign Republicans are going to run this year, then Republicans could very well take back both houses of congress this November.

The video is slick, powerful and nails the tone and message. It tells the 80% of Americans who are angry and distrust this government that they are absolutely right by reminding them, with Democrats own words and deeds, of the blatant disregard of the American people’s wishes, precedent, the rule of law, and of the radically, dangerously corrupt  manner in which Democrats are forcing their unpopular agenda on an unwilling public.

I particularly like the choice of the Lincoln quote at the beginning. Spot on.

And if for no other reason, you just know the video nails it because, right out of the box, the left-wing media is attacking it as some crypto-Fawkesian incitement to blow up Parliament Congress or some such. (“Remember, remember the fifth of November; gunpowder, treason and plot”) Going immediately to DEFCON 1 like that means they’re scared.  No one has even called it racist yet that I know of, but if they haven’t yet, I’m sure they will have before I finish writing this post. Liberals are predictable if nothing else after all.

Kudo’s to Haley Barbour and the Republican Governor’s Association, and especially to the in-house talent that made this polished, powerful vid. This is the second slick ad I’ve seen from that group, which suggests to me that  the RGA may be where the real leadership is in the Republican party this election. You might consider hitting them up with a donation if you can. When someone in our party is leading in the right direction, I like to get behind them.

More please!

Threaten Democrats With Sunlight by American Elephant

Your health care is at risk, my health care is at risk, the very nature of the relationship between Americans and their government is at risk because power-hungry Democrat cockroaches in Washington DC are making dirty deals in dark backrooms for votes on Obama’s wildly unpopular socialist health-care Trojan Horse.

Rush said today that Obama wouldn’t dare hold a press conference right now because the rank corruption that is going on can only happen in secrecy. He’s right. Cockroaches thrive in the dark. What America desperately needs right now is some sunlight to make these cockroaches scatter!

Unfortunately, minority Republicans aren’t currently in a position to cast much sunlight on Democrats’ corrupt dealings.

But they will be.

After next November’s elections, if Republicans take back control of one of both chambers on Capitol Hill as many predict they will, they will gain subpoena power, control committees, and direct the agenda of at least one chamber of congress.

And that is a powerful weapon that Republicans can and should use to kill this horrendous bill — and they should use it now.  Americans already know Pelosi and Obama are bribing Democrats to get them to vote yes on Obamacare. Some of their corrupt dealings have already been exposed.  GOP leaders should immediately hold a press conference, citing those corrupt dealings and the sleazy, corrupt  manner in which this bill is being passed,  and threaten wavering Democrats by promising that if Republicans win next November, they will investigate any and all evidence of corruption, bribery and even the appearance of impropriety surrounding the passage of  this unpopular bill. They should threaten to subpoena records, hold hearings if necessary, and promise that they will expose the Democrats involved, punish unethical behavior and prosecute anything illegal.

Democrat fence-sitters will be MUCH more reluctant to make shady deals and accept promises of cushy jobs if they fear their golden parachutes might be made public, get them investigated or land them in jail.

Sunlight is not only the best disinfectant, it also makes cockroaches scatter!

And even the threat of future sunlight may be just what Republicans need to scare enough wavering Democrats to kill this cancerous bill.

I hope you will call and write your Representatives and the Republican leaders and ask them to immediately hold a press conference and publicly promise to cast sunlight on ALL the Democrat’s dirty deals.

Second Verse? Same as the First! by American Elephant

Senate Democrats started the very first day of Obama’s second year in office, the day after Massachusetts delievered a stunning rebuke of their leadership,  by proposing a $1.9 TRILLION dollar increase in the federal debt limit. An increase that would permit Democrats to raise the National Debt to $14.3 TRILLION dollars. Because the $12.4 TRILLION that Democrats just raised the Debt Limit to just LAST MONTH just wasn’t enough.

It was less than a decade ago that $1.9 trillion dollars would have paid for the entire federal budget for a full year, plus change. Democrats now spend that in a month.

Democrats introduced the bill yesterday because they are afraid Republicans would filibuster the spending increase if they wait until after Scott Brown is seated.

Yeah. Sounds like they need another message. They didn’t get the one delivered by Brown.

Brown Wins! Massachusetts Teabags Democrats! by American Elephant

Snot-faced liberals on MSDNC and CNN have been giggling for months as they knowingly, consistently used this crude sexual epithet to try to demean and dismiss millions of Americans who object to their command and control agenda. But what they never seemed to get, or I should say, one of the multitude of things they don’t get is that if protesters are the “tea-baggers” then lefties are the tea-baggees. Perhaps that’s where they wanted to be all along.

Perhaps their juvenile antics will lose their wit now that the bluest of blue states, that bastion of Northeastern enlightenment has teabagged them. It couldnt happen to a more deserving group.

Just around 9:30 Eastern, Martha Croakley called to concede the election to Scott Brown.

BOSTON – In an epic upset in liberal Massachusetts, Republican Scott Brown rode a wave of voter anger to defeat Democrat Martha Coakley in a U.S. Senate election Tuesday that left President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul in doubt and marred the end of his first year in office.

The loss by the once-favored Coakley for the seat that the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy held for nearly half a century signaled big political problems for the president’s party this fall when House, Senate and gubernatorial candidates are on the ballot nationwide.

More immediately, Brown will become the 41st Republican in the 100-member Senate, which could allow the GOP to block the president’s health care legislation and the rest of Obama’s agenda. Democrats needed Coakley to win for a 60th vote to thwart Republican filibusters.

This election was a referendum on Obama, Democrats and their “progressive” agenda. Period. Obama admitted it himself. Americans, even in Democrat strongholds like  New Jersey and now Kennedyland, are overwhelmingly rejecting the Democrats  “progressive” agenda that has already wrought so much destruction on this country, and threatens so much more. Americans are mad as hell at Democrats and Obama and their fascist, command and control agenda, and they aren’t going to take it anymore!

Congratulations to Scott Brown on his victory, and on a brilliant campaign! If you are a Democrat politician thinking you can escape voters’ anger because you live in a “safe” seat? Be afraid, be very afraid.

Republicans in Congress are Working Hard to Stop the Healthcare Takeover by American Elephant

Moe Lane has the skinny:

In their first shot at the measure this week, Republicans decided to try to strike at the heart of how Democrats plan to pay for the $848 billion measure by attempting to eliminate the proposal’s almost $440 billion in Medicare cuts.

But instead of offering a conventional amendment, they decided to use an esoteric procedural tactic that would send the bill back to committee with instructions to eliminate the cuts. If successful, the GOP’s gambit would force Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to use time-consuming procedures and hold another filibuster-killing vote on whether to restart debate on the bill.

That takes it off the floor, requires another committee vote, delays the bill, and ticks off Senate Democrats.  The ‘delays the bill’ part is probably the most important thing, here: health care rationing just isn’t popular these days.

But there is only so much they can do with parliamentary tricks against a Democrat super-majority. They need your help. Be sure to tell them you appreciate their efforts, and help them out by putting pressure on the Democrats. Here’s another way to help.

What is the Difference Between Republicans and Democrats? by The Elephant's Child

A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person. The Republican gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his business for a job. He then took twenty dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.

The Democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless person, he decided to help. He walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. He then reached into the Republican’s pocket and got out twenty dollars. He kept $15 for administrative fees and gave the homeless person five.

Now you understand the difference between Republicans & Democrats.
