Oh my! The Democrats, winding up their very best efforts to capitalize on the articles of impeachment that have resulted from this long, long effort to dispose of the duly elected, but hated, President of the United States of America, have managed to make a colossal mess of the whole thing. Iowa has been holding caucuses for years, it should have been simple, but golly, the results at this late hour, two days late, are still only partly in. Some new software, they claim. Interestingly, Joe Biden, who was the supposed primary opposition in the coming election for President Trump, and the reason for the accusations of Trump’s supposedly impeachable request to investigate him, ( having nothing to do with Hunter Biden’s improbable corrupt payout from the agency his father was in charge of controlling – is now distantly trailing Pete Buttigieg, a radical former mayor, and Bernie Sanders, current socialist. The Democrats are Not Impressed with their list of candidates. Hence Bloomberg and Steyer, the leading radicals for the Democrats. Impeachment is over. A failed effort. The President is innocent and not, as Nancy Pelosi claims “impeached forever.”
Nancy Pelosi’s smarmy little stunt of ripping up the copy of the President’s speech is failing to bad planning and (even) Democrat disgust. She was filmed showing that the papers of the speech had a tear started, so she could make her dramatic gesture effectively. A number of Democrats were outraged by that, and swore never to vote for a Democrat again.
The “Squad” arranged to fail to be present. AOC stayed home with her new dog, so they wouldn’t have to witness children in cages. Tlaib and Omar pointedly did not attend the 100 year old Tuskegee Airman’s presentation, which outraged other Democrats because that was really an important honor, and a very big deal in the Second World War. Trump made him a General in a ceremony at the White House. But it was pretty obvious that Tlaib and Omar had no clue what a Tuskegee Airman was or why it was supposed to be a big deal.
Democrats, in general, remain furious and outraged, but Impeachment is over. Done. Finished. The President is not guilty, not impeached. Sorry, Nancy, he is not :”impeached forever”. They got themselves all worked up into a frenzy, and don’t know what to do with it. Folks in Utah are talking about recall for Mitt Romney, though recall is apparently not available in Utah. Mitt Romney did come up with a pathetic self-justification, involving his own sterling character and his faith.
Democrats had what might be called a brain freeze, bad planning, bad execution, and a lot of angry citizens. What that means for the 2020 election is unknown. The economy, however, is booming, and favoring the very people who need a booming economy the most. Plentiful jobs, a strong stock market, plentiful energy, and the fires in Australia were not caused by global warming. The Polar Bears are just fine and thriving.

Terrific speech. Uniting, caring, forward looking. Of course the Democrats are not interested in uniting. I cannot remember a year when the opposing party behaved so badly. They went to great lengths to make clear their hatred for our country and this president.
Progressives’ plain rudeness was on national display. Leftist comments on the speech were startlingly notable for the total absence of any sense whatsoever and their plain fuming hate. Calling it “Trump Derangement Syndrome” doesn’t even begin to describe their problem. It’s not interested in our country, our future, our people — just blind fury at being out of power.
The accomplishments of this administration are clear and remarkable. No bragging there, just statement of fact. Senator Schumer remarked yesterday that President Trump should thank President Obama for repairing the economy so that it should show such improvement. Obama had no understanding of how an economy works, but that’s why the record of socialists is so dismal.
The most powerful rebuke in the speech was the line “Americans are Dreamers too.” Good reminder. The illegal immigrant “Dreamers” have shown no particular effort to adapt to or participate in this country. The few who have served in the military should be on a path to citizenship, but the ones who are out demonstrating, screaming, carrying pre-printed signs—demanding citizenship seem to have the illusion that they have fulfilled all the requirements for citizenship by simply being here at taxpayer expense. Many have dropped out of high school, contemptuous of the generosity of the country. We are not a “nation of immigrants.” We are a nation of Citizens.
Victor Davis Hanson had a column a week ago clarifying the issue, entitled “The Mythologies of Illegal Immigration.” It is well worth your time for a straightforward view of reality. An earlier column this month was “What the ‘Dreamer’ fight is really about.” Professor Hanson’s home is in California’s Central Valley, and he grew up with Mexican immigrants and Mexican illegal immigrants, Some are members of his family. He simply explains the problems in a straightforward manner. He also wrote, with Heather MacDonald and Steve Malanga “The Immigration Solution: A Better Plan Than Today’s” for those who are actually interested in a solution.
One thing Dr. Hanson has often called to our attention is President Trump’s use of the word “our.” He always refers to our workers, our miners, our police officers, our military, and our people. No other president has done that.
Efforts at Unity for the good of the country, will, of course, amount to nothing. Democrats will stand ready to punish any of their fellows who do not understand that our Constitutional Republic is not meant to have anyone but Democrats in charge. It’s entirely about the power of the Ruling class, and what they can do with that power.

State of the Union speeches are seldom anything that goes in the history books, and this one was certainly no exception. You can expect any president to attempt to paint a picture that is at the least a little rosier than reality, but really, this was ridiculous. Presidents and their speechwriters try to come up with ringing phrases that will be memorable, that reporters will repeat over and over the next day, but history requires some relation to reality.
Together, we have cleared away the rubble of crisis, and can say with renewed confidence that the state of our union is stronger.
The president realizes that the public is concerned about jobs. Even those who are still employed are worried and most either have a family member or know someone who is out of a job. So he offered up some titles for federal micromanagement initiatives: “manufacturing hubs”, a “partnership to rebuild America,” a challenge to “redesign America’s schools, and “Energy Security Trust.” Memo headings, with the details yet to be filled in.
In the real world, the state of the union is that the United States is $6 trillion deeper in debt than it was before Barack Obama became president. He has spent more in four years than George W. Bush did in eight. Economic recovery is slower than it has ever been in any recovery in recent memory, and economists fear that we may be falling into a new recession. Since the recession ended in June of 2009, incomes have dropped another 4.8 percent. And as far as reducing the deficit, this is how it is done.
There is an extensive history of how we recover from recessions, and how we create jobs in our free society. Business owners, managers, and business organizations have been quite public about what is preventing them from investing and growing their businesses. High corporate taxes, an excess of unnecessary regulation, ObamaCare and its rapidly rising costs and regulation, the high cost of energy, the fear of overcriminalization.
The president has destroyed businesses with excessive controls. The flow of useless regulation from the Interior Department and the EPA have put whole companies out of business. This president, in pursuit of an ideological agenda that is not new, but old—very old, and has failed over and over, has created a climate in which businesses are afraid to hire, afraid to invest or grow, and no “Partnership to Rebuild America” nor “Energy Security Trust” will do a thing unless the administration changes direction. Which he will not do. He does not change his mind.
He will go on chasing global warming, which is proved by Hurricane Sandy and this summer’s drought though this is weather, not climate. He actually claimed that “the 12 hottest years on record have all come in the last 15”, which is completely false as there has been no warming for the past 17 years. None. Even the IPCC is admitting that it’s over. Enthusiasts have been chasing electric cars since the early 1900s, always sure that the final breakthrough is just ahead. Wind energy is not free, but just raises our costs of energy to unaffordable levels.
You can print out the speech if you are interested. It’s easy to refute, line by line. It is a fraud. He raises straw men as he always does, and congratulates himself when he knocks them down. But there are plenty of clues to what the man actually believes or at least what he tells himself. You cannot read the speech without wondering why he understands so little.

A little humor from the GOP. You can just watch this and not bother with listening tomorrow, or you can compare this to see how much is just regurgitated, take your pick.
