Joe Biden is apparently looking to enhance his reputation as the worst president in American history, with a new bid to get impeached.

President Joe Biden’s deputies have announced they will lift the Title 42 barrier at the southern border on May 23, allowing a vast wave of wage-cutting, rent-spiking migrants into America’s job and housing markets.

“We are increasing our capacity to process new arrivals, evaluate asylum requests,” said a statement from Alejandro Mayorkas, who heads Biden’s Department of Homeland Security and is trying to build an extra immigration system that operates alongside annual limits set by Congress.

Without the Title 42 rules, Mayorkas and his allies insist that they are required to let anyone at the border appeal for asylum. The process has been overloaded, ensuring that all people who apply for asylum can legally work and live in the United States for several years.

Mayorkas, a Cuban-American, apparently favors massive immigration, which seems an odd choice to head Homeland Security. The more I read about illegals flooding the border and Americans being killed by illegal aliens, the more it seems we need some stronger immigration laws. The Border Patrol does a difficult and dangerous job, and needs a lot more support and gratitude. They are the good guys.

I have nothing against new immigrants. I just expect them to come the legal way. Surprisingly the legal way is not just to appear at the border and sneak across when nobody is looking. One goes to their nearest American consulate or embassy, and applies. Then waits their turn. That’s not hard. but just appearing at the border, or trying to sneak across when nobody is looking, should ban that person permanently from ever applying. Follow the law. And for Secretary Mayorkas, insure that the law is followed. The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS.org) follows the immigration situation closely and is the best source for information. They even offer tours of the border, which might be an interesting vacation, it’s a beautiful country.

Lots of good studies at CIS.org, new books on immigration on offer, a good site to add to your list. The high-tech industries seem to rely on foreign workers who are apt to demand less salary than our own graduates. When we got our Covid vaccinations at a big Microsoft event, I was astonished by the vast numbers of foreign workers. I wonder if our own graduates are readily able to find employment.
