Democrats have worked hard to portray the riot and invasion of the Capitol building in Washington D.C. as caused exclusively by President Donald Trump’s outrageous ideas about a “stolen” election, and encouraging his supporters to riot and invade the Capitol.
In case the Democrats haven’t noticed, there have been major riots, looting, business destruction all over the country since George Floyd’s death in May of 2020, in most major cities. Portland’s beleaguered mayor has finally surrendered and asked for the National Guard to come in and save him from Antifa. Calls for defunding the police have dropped off somewhat as killings have increased, but really grasping cause and effect seems beyond the media’s powers. It’s much easier to just report what some minor celebrity said.
Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is right out in front, trying to raise outrage and, if possible, destroy the president. Ever since her outrageous demonstration in the house of tearing up her copy of the President of the United State’s State of the Union address on live television, she’s been looking for a chance to impeach him, or censor him or destroy him, without much success. He has done a remarkably good job for the economy, for business, for the environment, and for peace in the Middle East by opening embassies in Israel. Talking over relations is much better than fighting, and the Israelis are grateful.
Joe Biden’s plans, as they gradually appear, are terrifying. He believes firmly in a nonexistent climate crisis, and will put the economy in recession by banning fossil fuels needlessly, promoting electric cars, for which there isn’t enough electricity, promoting windmills and solar arrays that cannot produce the energy needed by a modern industrial society, at enormous crippling cost. It has been far warmer in the past to no ill effect, and there is no evidence that climate change is a big deal, except to autistic Swedish children.
Biden wants to eliminate charter schools (teachers’ unions don’t like them) which have young black kids matching the accomplishments of some of the most exclusive school districts. He wants to go after the gun companies so guns can no longer be manufactured. He doesn’t think anyone should have one. And he is using the language of “The Great Reset” which is absolutely terrifying. “Build Back Better” is the key phrase. If you are unsure of what The Great Reset is, enter those words in the blank over Bob Hope’s head in the sidebar.
The problem with President Trump is that he might come back in 2024, and an Impeached president cannot run again. They have to prepare for the future. Now Nancy Pelosi has had the brilliant idea of trying to remove Trump’s ability to control access to the nuclear codes, apparently because she is afraid he might drop a nuke on the House chamber? Who knows? That one even confuses the legal scholars. Anything to strike terror into the hearts of susceptible Democrats, I guess. They not only have to destroy President Trump, his ideas, his supporters, and any remaining program so it does not reappear. They have been seriously terrified at his success over the last four years, and over their inability to get rid of him.
John Hinderaker has a nice overview at Powerline, which you might enjoy. You might notice that I even borrowed a bit of their headline.
What especially annoys me, is that Nancy Pelosi, who has a net worth of something over $40 million and a salary as Speaker of $223,500. tacked in her use of her “own” military plane to transport her home and wherever she needs to go on the taxpayer’s account instead of paying it herself, so she doesn’t have to mix with the common folk at airports. That seems a bit crass.

Lockdowns, Covid-19, closed businesses, riots, incompetent governors and mayors, protests, looting, just another day like all days in the wake of the Corona virus. A demand arises that Congress appropriate some money to jumpstart the economy once again, so, naturally they do their usual Congressional thing. They appropriate $600 dollars for everybody as an economic stimulus, and add on all the splendid Democrat ideas they’ve been drumming up in the wake of TDS. So it adds up to something just over 2 Trillion dollars added to the federal debt.
Any time someone says “federal debt” do remember that the federal government has no money of its own. Every last cent comes out of your pocket or bank account. So, of course, they add all their greedy wishes and hopes and political payoffs in. (I heard, 2nd-hand, from something on Twitter), that Speaker Pelosi got her plane back. As Speaker, she got her own military plane under Obama, and pilot to fly her around so she didn’t have to spend time in airport lines and associate with the ordinary riff-raff. Some sensible entity in government thought that was ridiculous and removed the privilege, and she has been chafing about it ever since. It may not even be true, but that is just the sort of thing that Democrats tuck into big omnibus bills because with the cover of $600 for everybody, the sky’s the limit. That $600 will probably not even begin to cover your eventual cost.
That’s how Congress works. You might keep that in mind next time you vote. it’s a pretty cushy job.

Former Vice President Joe Biden has clarified matters. Donald Trump caused the Corona virus, didn’t act on it promptly enough, didn’t do the right things when he finally did act, and thus caused all the deaths and misery and unemployment that have resulted. He has also caused all the riots and protests, is a thoroughly bad man and must be replaced as soon as possible by the aforesaid Joe Biden.
So naturally, the news today was entirely about Nancy Pelosi getting her hair done, cut and color, I presume. Partly it seemed to be about whether or not she wore a mask, (She didn’t). which was required. The salon didn’t open their doors, for they have been shut down by local laws. When Nancy became the object of the day’s news, she blamed it all on the salon which played some kind of dirty trick on her. She said she takes responsibility for allowing herself to be “set up” by the salon. I suspect she’s going to have to find a new salon after all this. They were not allowed to be open and opened just for her. Her haircut even trumped the news that the Stock Market today his the highest point ever. Go figure.
The Portland mayor, has been chased out of his home by rioters who broke into his condominium, but he has a number of other homes, so it is apparently not a big deal. Joe Biden, having demonized Donald Trump for going to Kenosha, is now going to go to Kenosha himself, but he will commiserate with the parents of the dead and be compassionate and kind and that will make all the difference.
Looks like we may have a covid vaccine this fall, by October or November. Dr. Scott Atlas, Presidential advisor has sharply dissented with media accusations that it is being rushed because of the election, and said the development is carefully following all the protocols. It is just going well.
The Covid crisis is just another weapon they want to use against President Trump. He’s done pretty well with a disease that we didn’t know anything about when it arrived. Trump shut down all air traffic from China immediately and acted quickly to get ventilators, masks, and all the supplies hospitals across the country might need. Even Democrat governors were praising him for his quick response to their needs.
Expect more. More riots, more shootings, more statue attackers. More demands for reparations. Some have even demanded that the Mayor of Washington D.C. tear down the Washington Monument because George Washington once owned slaves. If you have ever seen it, it is a rather large object.
History is what happened in the past. Changing names, altering buildings, tearing down statues does not change a thing. What happened in the past — happened. We can learn from the past, but we cannot change it. You might remind others of that simple fact.

I was looking in my archives for something or other, and found the following, which I found of interest: Notice the date.
Democrats are at it again, trying to trick you with fast action. Nancy Pelosi decides to stick it to the oil companies because they aren’t producing oil from the 68 million acres they already have. Why should Congress give them more land to do nothing with. (See, it is now not Congress’ fault for irresponsibly refusing to open onshore and offshore lands to exploration. We gave them 68 million acres and WHERE IS THE OIL?)
Well, Congress will fix that!
Congress will just compel them to produce oil. So there!
Red Cavaney, president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute, responds in today’s Wall Street Journal:
If only it were that easy to find and produce oil. Imagine, an act of Congress that could do what geology could not.
These lawmakers ask why oil and gas companies want more access to federal lands to drill if they aren’t using all of the 68 million acres they already have? Anyone with even the most basic understanding of how oil and natural gas are produced — and this should include many members of Congress — knows that claims of “idle” leases are a diversionary feint.
A company bids for and buys a lease because it believes there is a possibility that it may yield enough oil or natural gas to make the cost of the lease, and the costs of exploration and production, commercially viable. The U.S. government received $3.7 billion from company bids in a single lease sale in March 2008.
Pelosi is getting so silly that she just makes me laugh. YOU — Produce oil now!!! That’ll do it. Our gas crisis is solved.
It is always fascinating when Congress takes on business and industry. It is such unfamiliar territory for members of congress, and they know so little, yet are so completely condescending. Businessmen are so polite and so knowledgeable that it never reflects well on their inquisitors. But nobody ever watches committee meetings anyway, and far too often, never reads the response of industry to unfortunate lawmaking.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), financial expert, suggests that President Obama should “just declare the debt ceiling unconstitutional.” She thinks Obama should use the 14th Amendment, which states that “The validity of the public debt of the United States…shall not be questioned.” There’s a lot that gets lost with that little ellipsis, but she wants the nasty Republicans who want spending cuts in exchange for another debt ceiling hike to stop interfering.
She also was irate about the Congressional Oversight Committee holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. She denied that Operation Fast and Furious is the real cause of the investigation and contempt charge:
These very same people who are holding him in contempt are part of a nationwide scheme to suppress the vote. It is connected. It’s clear as can be. It’s not only to monopolize his time, it’s to undermine his name.
These folks want a plutocracy where instead of the choice of the many the checks of the very few determine the outcomes of elections.
Lets see. The Republicans want voters to prove they who they claim to be by showing a picture ID, which you have to show to register to vote, or to get into the Justice Department, or any other government building, or to attend Obama Rallies.
Democrats financed the “Secretary of State Project” to try to elect Democrat Secretaries of State in every state, since they were in charge of elections and counting the votes. And all those ACORN people who went to jail across the country for vote fraud sure weren’t Republicans.
This person is the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives in the United States of America. Isn’t that amazing. Vote Fraud is a real and widespread problem.

Alas, the supposedly “brilliant”, Newt “Our country must take action to address climate change” Gingrich, ever in search of more attention, has thrown his overly-large hat into the Republican primary ring.
I want him out. ASAP.
To that end, I want to remind everyone (and their mother) how willingly this tool cooperated with Satan’s concubine herself to push the falsehood that is man-made global warming; and worse, that we need to DO something about it. (Can you tell I’m still hacked-off about it?)
He has lent what credibility he had and, by proxy, the conservative name to Democrats’ thinly-veiled attempt to grab power over every conceivable facet of the economy, destroying the American way of life and delivering the socialist “Utopia” they so long for.
What’s not to love?
This shameless act of populist pandering at the expense of everything conservatives stand for should automatically and unequivocally disqualify Newt (real name Rebecca?) from not only running for the Republican nomination, but from calling himself a Republican or conservative to begin with. Don’t get me wrong! I believe in a big Republican tent, but there are certain core principles that are uttely unacceptable and non-negotiable — government control over every facet of life being foremost among them. Which is precisely what the “global warming” fraud exists to bring about.
So, he’s got to go.
I think the image is a good start, but Newt & Nancy need a clever campaign slogan. Perhaps a twist on something they say in the video? Or on the meaningless, asinine campaign slogan he’s already chosen– one which is also already identified with Obama. It’s up to you! We’re aiming for short, sweet, and devastatingly snarky.
Batters up!
Update (via Doug Powers): Newt now claims the commercial for Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection was not an endorsement of liberal ideas, but a debate…or something.

In Syria, the Assad regime made a fateful decision this week. They used their army —even including tanks —to kill civilians protesting peacefully. Bashar Assad made the decision that it was better to kill hundreds of unarmed Syrian citizens than to risk the fall of his regime. This is the man whom Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton thought was a peaceful reformer. As Elliott Abrams says:
In Syria and Lebanon, there is confusion about the American position. Many believe we are Assad well-wishers, and certainly Obama’s policy for 2009 and 2010 lent credence to that view. Now, the administration is coy: It talks of new sanctions but does not impose them yet. It talks of U.N. action but it is the U.K. and France that introduce the resolution, not the United States. It will not recall the U.S. ambassador who was so foolishly dispatched to Damascus late last year.
Two weeks ago, al Jazeera turned against Assad and is doing what it did in Egypt — broadcasting whatever it can get its hands on about the brutality of the regime and the courage of the protesters. The Amir of Qatar owns the station.
Syria is closely allied with Shia Iran, and with Hamas and Hezbollah, but the Syrian population is 74 percent Sunni. If the Alawite regime were to fall, it would be widely interpreted as a step toward the fall of the ayatollahs, so what happens in Syria is hugely important for American interests in the region. The president is, um, testing the wind, thinking about sanctions. He could recall our ambassador. He could pressure Turkey very hard to distance itself from the regime. He did say that Mubarak and Quaddafi must step down, he hasn’t even suggested that Bashar should.
He did issue a travelers’ warning.

Oh frabjous day! Callooh Callay!
The most unpopular Speaker, from the most unpopular congress EVER is Speaker no more!
But while Americans kicked her out of the Speaker’s office, Democrats are poised to re-elect her today as their new minority leader. In other words, the American people threw Democrats out of power in the biggest electoral ass-kicking in 75 years , and Democrats response is to flip the American people the bird. They have nothing but contempt for the American people. And they have absolutely no intention of changing anything about their agenda, they will only fight harder and dirtier. After so-called “moderate” Democrats bore the brunt of their losses in November, the Democrat party is now far more radical and more extremist than ever. The only thing they have any intention of changing is the “tone” of their propaganda and lies.
Meet the new face of Congressional Dems — same as the very old, very unpopular face.
