All over the map! Reported deaths don’t agree with each other, apparently nobody knows. Best guess is that nobody knows where people took shelter, nor how successfully. Reporters want to sound knowledgeable, but they don’t know enough yet. People took shelter, and are staying put in case of major aftershocks. Must be terrible for folks here, who have family that went to Hawaii for a vacation, and they can’t find out anything. Hawaiian hospitals are full. It will take some time to sort it all out
That’s the worst part, not knowing and not being able to find out, and the pressure from people who are desperately trying to find their relatives and friends and learn if they are all right, is immense. 1,000 to 1,100 people are missing and unaccounted for. They have cadaver dogs searching the rubble. But nobody knows where people sought shelter, nor if they were successful or not.
Terrible for the folks who are desperately trying to find out if their family is still alive.
