I know what you’re thinking, but E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is most definitely a Halloweeny movie — a monster movie that reminds us that not all monsters are bad. That those things that go bump in the night most often aren’t as scary as we imagine them to be.

But Halloween is about a lot more than monsters. Halloween is also about imagination, wonder, adventure, mystery and magic — it’s about bogeymen and things that go bump in the night. All of which E.T. has by the bucket-full. (Not to mention costumes, trick-or-treating, and shameless product placement by the candy industry.)

Rated PG for language and mild thematic elements, ET is one little green man from outer space that is sure to be a treat for the whole family.
