A Lesson in Pure Partisanship by The Elephant's Child

More jottings from my notebook:

No date, but the conversation makes the time element fairly clear. This is Chris Matthews at MSNBC explaining partisanship to the uninitiated.

Before I get started today I want to express how grateful I am for the awe-inspiring leadership of my president. Syria is a bloodbath, Iraq is in the hands of terrorists, Israel is on the verge of war with the Palestinians, and Russian troops are in Ukraine.  On top of that we’ve got the Benghazi, IRS, NSA, and VA scandals and our Southern border is rife with diseased children, gang members and Middle Eastern terrorists donning sombreros. All these problems that were created by the Bush administration would have crippled the most stoic of leaders. Yet, last night I saw a news video of President Obama laughing and enjoying himself in Denver as he ate Pizza, drank beer and played billiards. Our president is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, but you’d never know it by looking at him. Today he’s headed to the golf course before attending three different fundraisers. Tomorrow he’s shooting a game of hoops with LeBron James and Barbara Streisand before hosting a $45,000 a seat fundraiser at Steven Spielberg’s East Hampton. Calm, cool and self-assured folks. Those are the characteristics of a leader.

You can probably guess why I copied this down. It was hard writing because I couldn’t stop giggling. It’s all so innocent.

Al’s latest and greatest will surely join the archives of great moments in Democrat oratory. (Couldn’t help but notice whilst mocking-up this parody that the font msnbc chose for the “lean forward” tagline is called “agenda”. How appropriate!)

“I Admit I’m Marxist When it Comes to my Analysis”…

And Rachael Maddow enthusiastically chimes in that this is one of the circumstances when it’s apparently okay for them to be “absolute purists”. As opposed to their usual moderate Marxism???

Can we please stop pretending these radicals are anything even approaching “mainstream”?

(via Weazel Zippers)

Update: Mika Brzezinski, MSDNC co-host and daughter of the disastrous Carter National Security Adviser concedes that its time for journalists to stop pretending they aren’t Democrats. To which I add, can’t we also stop pretedning that today’s Democrats aren’t largely Marxists.

Progressive Network Calls West Point “Enemy Camp” by American Elephant

As usual, the “progressive” leftists at MSNBC have harsher language for our troops and conservatives than they do for our nation’s enemies. But Chris Matthews plumbs new depths on a network that seems to exist solely to plumb new depths, when he calls actually calls the cadets at West Point Military Academy the enemy. (Keith Olbermann can be heard in the background signalling his agreement with an, “mm hmmm”, and Rachael Maddow chimes in, “I think you’re right Chris.”

Another accidental moment of honesty by the progressive network shills for this administration. Catch liberals off their guard if you want them to tell you how they really feel.

Matthews should resign, but of course this is tame stuff for progressives.

(But it still gives me an opportunity to dredge up a story I missed last week about sanctimonious, race-bating, progressive MSNBC being  the whitest network on TV. Heh. Do as they say, not as they do? )

SHOCK! NBC Criticizes Obama! by American Elephant

Is the love affair finally over? Is the bloom finally off the rose?

Here we are, about four and a half months into the desolation of Obamanation (feels like a lot longer, doesn’t it?) and Barack Obama has spent more than all previous presidents combined; he has nationalized the banking industry, the auto industry, and is working hard to nationalize the health care industry; unemployment has skyrocketed; the trillion dollar stimulus has accomplished nothing but flushing a trillion dollars down the toilet; Obama has circumnavigated the globe apologizing for America, played fast and loose with facts, blamed everyone for everything except himself and the Democrats that have controlled congress for the last two and a half years; insulted most of the heads of state he has met and a few he hasn’t — and the National Broadcasting Company has just now uttered their first significant criticism of “the One” for his embarrassing addiction to teleprompters.

Sure, it’s milquetoast criticism, but remember, NBC News is the home of Chris “I felt this thrill going up my leg” Matthews, bowing Brian Williams, and Keith Uberwoman — compared to their regular lap-doggery, this is scathing!

Obama Flunking-Out in Two Polls by American Elephant

Surely the nutroots will find out about this soon enough and launch a massive email/twitter/whatever campaign. Undoubtedly, it will be on tomorrow’s White House “progressive” conference call. But for now, a whopping 59% of  respondents to an online MSNBC poll are giving the dear leader a big fat “F” for his performance so far.

Obviously, the staff of MSNBC hasn’t voted yet:

But more importantly, president Obama, and his Treasury Secretary are also receiving failing grades from a Wall Street Journal survey of leading economists:

On average, they gave the president a grade of 59 out of 100, and although there was a broad range of marks, 42% of respondents rated Mr. Obama below 60. Mr. Geithner received an average grade of 51. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke scored better, with an average 71…

[E]conomists’ main criticism of the Obama team centered on delays in enacting key parts of plans to rescue banks. “They overpromised and underdelivered,” said Stephen Stanley of RBS Greenwich Capital. “Secretary Geithner scheduled a big speech and came out with just a vague blueprint. The uncertainty is hanging over everyone’s head.”…

The economists’ negative ratings mark a turnaround in opinion. In December, before Mr. Obama took office, three-quarters of respondents said the incoming administration’s economic team was better than the departing Bush team. However, Mr. Geithner’s latest marks are lower than the average grade of 57 that former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson received in January… [read more]

Which provides us with the perfect excuse to try out the nifty new WordPress poll feature* we’ve been dying to take for a spin!

Tell us what you think of the dear leader’s leadership:

*Poll results are at least as scientific as Al Gore’s “consensus” on man-made climate change.
