Did You Think Politics Is Boring? Wow! Think Again! by The Elephant's Child

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes finally got out of the FBI (with threats of impeachment and disgrace) the source of the origin of the Russia Probe. The committee wanted to know how the FBI found out about the George Papadopoulos meeting with a Russian national that led to the FBI’s original investigation into potential Trump/Russia collusion.

Chairman Nunes appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo to explain what they have found.

DEVIN NUNES: It took a long time to actually get this… the original intelligence, the original reasons that the counterintelligence investigation was started.

This is really important to us because a counterintelligence investigation uses the tools of our intelligence services, that are not supposed to be used on American citizens. So we’ve wanted to know what intelligence they had that actually led to this investigation.

There was no intelligence. Do watch the interview linked above. Why is this a big deal? Somebody ordered the investigation. They are investigating the State Department. Longtime close associates of Hillary Clinton, including Sidney Blumenthal and Corey Shearer were actively giving information to the State Department that was making its way to the FBI. So what you apparently have is a State Department whose Secretary is Hillary Clinton who is actively running for the Presidency participating in launching a probe and appointing a Special Prosecutor to  investigate her campaign opponent of the opposing party. And as Mr. Trump has claimed that his campaign was being wiretapped, he apparently was. We already know that the Clinton campaign paid for the Steele Dossier, but the campaign was also paying for oppo-research from London based Hakluyt & Co. Hillary wasn’t taking any chances. No wonder she’s so hysterical about losing.

At The American Spectator George Neumayr takes it a little further.

The probe didn’t start “by the book.” It started largely on the say-so of John Brennan, whose CIA operated like a branch office of the Hillary campaign. We know from Brennan’s own testimony and leaks that he had been lobbying the FBI to start the probe since at least the spring of 2016. But whatever alleged intelligence Brennan gave to the FBI, it was too flaky for the FBI to commit to print.

The probe was the product of a shell game played by a cast of Trump haters — from Brennan to Peter Strzok (the FBI’s liaison to the CIA, which is a key fact in all of this) to Hillary hired gun Christopher Steele. Brennan, since at least April of 2016, had been shaking foreign intelligence agencies down for any dirt on Trumpworld. He claimed that he had come up with some from Estonia, England, and other trusted “counterparts” and shoveled it to Strzok, who then dumped it on the desk of other Hillary partisans in the FBI/Justice Department’s senior leadership. Strzok would later confess to his mistress, in between calling Trump a “douche,” that the probe was just a fishing expedition with no “big there there.”

At National Review today Victor Davis Hanson explains how Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation train searching for any conceivable thing that President Donald Trump might have done wrong in 2016 is exposing all sorts of improper or illegal FBI and DOJ false testimony. The Inspector General has already indicated that Andrew McCabe has lied to federal investigators. And the list of those who have probably lied to federal investigators grows and grows. This makes Watergate look like tiddlywinks. The potentially worst scandal in the history of the country.

The partisan press keeps trying to feed the dying Russia collusion conspiracy theory in which they have invested so much effort. Yet they took no notice of “last week’s federal court filing that exposes an $84 million money-laundering conspiracy the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton Campaign executed during the 2016 presidential election in violation for  federal campaign-finance law.”

This comes from a post at The Federalist which added “Think of it Like a Shell Game With Millions of Dollars.” For the explanation of the law and why it’s a big deal you’ll have to follow the link. A lot of reading but we need to understand what is really happening, under the covers so to speak.

Investors Business Daily reported that the U.S. has 3.5 million more registered voters than live adults. Hundreds of illegals voted in Pennsylvania, and are cancelling their registrations now in fear of being discovered. Ken Block of Simpatico Software Systems did a comparison of voter registration and voter history from 21 states. Using an extremely conservative matching formula that included name, birthdays and Social Security numbers found that approximately 8,500 voters who voted in two states in the November 2016 election, including 200 couples who voted illegally together. He estimated that “there would be at least 40,000 duplicate voters if data was available from all states.” Chicago managed to have 14,000 more votes than voters in the 2016 general election. You will recall that Democrats insist that there is little if any vote fraud, and fiercely resist efforts to pass laws requiring voter identification. insisting that it is just racist attempts to keep Blacks from voting.

Put aside the latest thriller you’ve been reading. Forget the movie you were going to watch. Politics is starting to get downright exciting as a spectator sport.

The Mueller Probe Is Not What You Think It Is! by The Elephant's Child

Apparently the Mueller probe has never been about Russian collusion at all, and is entirely focused on trying desperately to find something for which to impeach President Trump. General Michael Flynn has pleaded guilty to “lying” to the FBI in order to stop the harassment of his family, the depletion of his savings in attorney fees, and is being forced to sell his house to meet the financial drain. The Mueller team was apparently trying to implicate Flynn’s son, though I have seen no information on that at all.

Michael Ledeen has written on the case, and says that he interviewed former colleagues of Flynn thoroughly when he worked with him on The Field of Flight, to understand his co-author. Flynn was unanimously described as a man who was a compulsive truth-teller. Confessing to making false statements makes no sense, and would be totally out of character,. Ledeen says he has pled guilty to doing foreign policy, which was his job, at the behest of the president-elect, and then misleading the FBI and the vice-president elect. I always listen to Michael Ledeen.

The FBI agent who interviewed General Flynn was Peter Strzok, who was removed from the Russia Probe over anti-Trump bias expressed publicly on Twitter and elsewhere. Michael Ledeen:

So the Flynn story, which is also the Mueller story, is about national politics, as it has been since the beginning. We have just learned that Mueller removed two investigators from his staff after they had played key roles in investigating Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and the so-called “collusion” matter. Mueller has been actively blocking congressional access to documents about the case.

Attorney General Sessions  issued an interesting statement:

The allegations that the inspector general has confirmed are part of his ongoing investigation, if proven to be true, would raise serious questions of public trust. I look forward to receiving the inspector general’s report. We will ensure that anyone who works on any investigation in the Department of Justice does so objectively and free from bias or favoritism.

The inspector general has been working diligently to complete his investigation for months, and I have requested he complete it as soon as possible. The American people deserve answers.

At the Wall Street Journal, Holman Jenkins noted that:

Retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn on Friday pleaded guilty to lying about a non-crime. Even Adam Schiff, the House Democrat most determined to ride the Russia collusion story to bigger and better things, acknowledged that conferring with a representative of Russia about the incoming administration’s Russia policy is not illegal or improper.

The best source for the legal part of this complicated mess is Andy McCarthy at National Review. Read the whole thing, and Andy’s other pieces as well.  We all need to be well informed on this Leftist attempt at a coup. They want to bring down this administration. It has nothing really to do with Hillary’s loss. They wish she would just go away. It is entirely about power.

The Obama administration made some great progress towards the globalism or socialism  that is their goal, and they were looking forward to getting rid of the annoying Constitution, all that free speech crap, all the guns—they could envision the promised wonderfulness nearly in reach, and then—Trump! He is not only decimating all of Obama’s accomplishments one by one, he keeps getting on Twitter and rubbing it in.

I don’t think the average run of the mill Democrat has any grasp of what the hard core of the party is all about. They are Democrats because Republicans are nasty Racist, Sexist, Homophobes who cut taxes for the Rich, and don’t give the poor people anything at all. Or something like that.

The Trump accomplishments to this point are not particularly Republican, but centrist. Trump has his eye clearly on fixing the controls and regulations imposed by the Obama administration and getting overbearing government out of the way of the people.Which is really what he promised, isn’t it?
