Amid the statue toppling, protests, violence and nonsense going on, the President of the United States chose to celebrate the Fourth Of July Celebration in a traditional way, although on July 3, as so many previous presidents have: with fireworks at the Mt. Rushmore National Monument in the Black Hills of South Dakota, a speech celebrating the nation and its history, and a flyover by the Blue Angels.
That simply will not do!

The general opinion was that the President had delivered one of the best speeches of his Presidency. He is attempting to rally the country in defense of traditional principles that are now under radical attack from the Socialist Left. The speech was a familiar warm address to liberty and American achievement in front of an American landmark.
The America he described is one of genuine racial equality and diversity. The central ideal of the Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson, is that “all men are created equal”. He said “these immortal words set in motion the unstoppable march of freedom” that set in motion the abolition of slavery more than a half century later. He cited Fredrick Douglass and Martin Luther King Jr. There was not even a hint of racial division in his words. But some choose to distort the meaning for political purposes.
