Joe Biden is Mandating Vaccinations! by The Elephant's Child

My goodness, but it’s getting weird out there. By “out there” I suppose I mean the news and news commentary and the conversation on the internet. What we assume to be an accounting of what is going on in the world, which may or may not be close to accurate.

Several months ago, as it warmed up from winter, U.S. President Joe Biden appeared eating an ice cream cone in a photograph. A number of people remarked that this was a better symbol than some others he’d tried. Since that time, he has rarely been photographed without an ice cream cone, and the Taliban in Afghanistan just mocked him with a large group of them all eating ice cream cones, a little odd, since cones and scoops seem to be different shapes in Afghanistan.

Now, worried about the pandemic, Joe Biden is mandating vaccination, to outrage across the board from people who do not believe than even the President of the United States can legally order them to get a vaccine they do not want to receive. I had to spend a long time hunting for somewhere to get the vaccine that was approved and rated effective by the CDC. Appointments were scarce. Two hospitals here put on a joint event at the Microsoft campus with a cast of thousands, where we got ours. I really don’t understand why some are adamantly opposed to getting a vaccination.

So far in the United States there have been 41,255,867 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 667,520 deaths. Globally, 223,514,206 cases and 4,611,170 deaths. That’s a lot of unnecessarily dead people.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of 9/11, the day when Islamic terrorists commandeered American airliners to crash them into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, in a massive act of murder-suicide. 2977 people were killed along with the 19 hijackers. More than 6,000 others were injured, mostly civilians except for 344 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, 372 non-citizens. Many jumped from the burning building rather than burn to death. A lot of people who lived in the area died later of cancer caused by the event. It was one of the most horrendous days in the history of the country. Remember the victims when you next vote, and select the best people you can to be in charge. Our lives depend on our choices. It’s a serious business.
