How Liberals get their tiny little brains so packed full of lies… by American Elephant

President Bush, Vice President Cheney and Former Federal Reserve Chairman, Alan Greenspan.

Greenspan Corrects Record, Slams Democrats

Two days ago, it was reported that Alan Greenspan said in his new book that, “the Iraq War is largely about oil.” Within hours the story had been picked up by news and bloggers around the world. Liberal websites were beside themselves with glee! “See! Greenspan says Bush went to war for oil!…Its all for oil!”

By Wednesday, a Google search returned 1,310,000 hits on the story.

Now we find out that Greenspan’s views were misrepresented:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Clarifying a controversial comment in his new memoir, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said he told the White House before the Iraq war that removing Saddam Hussein was “essential” to secure world oil supplies, according to an interview published on Monday.

Greenspan, who wrote in his memoir that “the Iraq War is largely about oil,” said in a Washington Post interview that while securing global oil supplies was “not the administration’s motive,” he had presented the White House before the 2003 invasion with the case for why removing the then-Iraqi leader was important for the global economy.

“I was not saying that that’s the administration’s motive,” Greenspan said in the interview conducted on Saturday. “I’m just saying that if somebody asked me, Are we fortunate in taking out Saddam?’ I would say it was essential.” [read more]

But the damage is done. Liberals have their “narrative,” and no amount of facts will ever convince them that Alan Greenspan didn’t say Bush went to war for oil. They’ll never even see this story. Even if they see it, they wont read it.

Similarly, Liberals still believe the “Haditha Massacre” is proof that the military and Bush are war criminals, despite the fact that it never happened, that the entire story was based on nothing but enemy propaganda and that almost all the charges have now been dropped.

They also still believe that Scott Beauchamp was relating truthful stories about war crimes committed by American troops in his columns for the disgraced New Republic despite the fact that he has been thoroughly exposed as a fraud. They believe that the abuses at Abu Gharib were directed from the White House even though the only officer charged was just acquitted of all charges because he had no idea it was even going on.

They believe that Joe Wilson was telling the truth even though a bipartisan investigation consisting of equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans concluded unanimously that he lied. They think Valerie Plame was covert even though the man who outed her was never arrested.

They still believe that soldiers at Guantanamo were desecrating Qurans by flushing them down the toilet, even though that story was proven to be another lie, and they still believe President Bush lied us into war despite the unanimous findings of four bipartisan and nonpartisan investigations that all unanimously find that no one lied, no one misled, and no one was pressured to deliver anything but the best intelligence (and a UK report that came to the same conclusion.)

Nor will they ever hear that Alan Greenspan really said that it was NOT the Bush administrations motive to go to war in Iraq for oil. Nor that Greenspan himself told Bush it was “essential” to remove Saddam for the security of the global economy.

Nor will Liberals ever hear that Greenspan believed that Saddam had WMD and that Saddam was intent on controlling the straights of Hormuz.

Greenspan slams Democrats

Likewise, the news traveled around the globe that Greenspan criticized Republicans’ spending. But lefties will never hear or read that Greenspan said, “the Democratic Party … has moved … very significantly in the wrong direction.”

And even if they do see it, what Greenspan has to say now, suddenly won’t be that meaningful to them as it was.

And so it has gone as long as this war has been on. Liberals are so eager to believe the absolute worst about their country, our military and our president that they don’t even stop to notice the propaganda they are swallowing whole is written, produced and directed by al Qaeda Productions Incorporated. And they certainly aren’t going to hang around long enough to risk hearing otherwise.

And so we have it, that Liberals tiny little walnut sized brains are full to overflowing with enemy propaganda and lies. But don’t even bother trying to correct them…they aren’t interested in the truth. Not even if it concerns matters of life and death, war and peace or the security of our very nation.

Nurturing their obsessive hatred for George W. Bush is all that matters to them, and they will nurture it at the expense of anything and everything else.

Lord, help us!

It’s probably more than likely Iraq was invaded for oil, but not for avarice. Capitalist institutions expand and grow more powerful by reinvesting their profit in future profit. So, perhaps the U.S. Government wasn’t interested in the oil itself, but maybe they were more concerned with what Saddam would invest the profits in.

I dont understand why its so difficult for people to believe that Iraq was invaded because saddam was a rogue dictator who was believed to have wmd, and since he openly supported suicide bombers, at least the reasonable possibility of giving WMD to terrorists.
