Greta Thunberg is Back, Blaming Britain as a Climate Villain! by The Elephant's Child

Greta Thunberg, Swedish autistic child climate activist, has branded the British government as one of the chief “climate villains” in the world although the United Kingdom only accounts for around one percent of the global carbon dioxide emissions. I’m sure you remember her journey to the United States on a sailboat, addressing and scolding the United Nations. Got tons of publicity and her portrait painted on the side of some building in San Francisco. The UK gets the blame for starting the Industrial Revolution.

I wonder if you or I could get to address the United Nations to tout our latest passion? She is 18 now, in high school, and just addressed the “Youth Climate Summit” in Milan. Profitable for her family, apparently.

Unfortunately, the climate of the earth is determined by the action of our sun, not Carbon dioxide. (CO2) is a natural plant food and makes crops grow, and the vegetation of the world as well. Even the Taliban in Afghanistan just admitted that they have had bountiful crops this year, in the midst of the Taliban war. Australia has also gone public with this year’s excellent crop yields.

The idea that CO2 was some sort of bad gas that was destroying the world seems to have originated in one of those big Davos conferences where all the rich and famous arrive in their airplanes and they decide what the world should be doing accompanied by lots of photographs and speeches and press conferences to tell the world what they expected of them

Christiana Figueres, who was General Secretary of the IPCC at the time of that Davos meeting, held a press conference to tell the gathered reporters that the purpose of the effort was to eliminate hated “Capitalism” from the face of the earth. That wasn’t what the press had in mind, so it didn’t get the publicity it might have, but it fits in well with the CO2 idea anyway.

That’s why we have Joe Biden destroying pipelines, putting oil field workers out of work, shutting down oil fields, and appointing people like John Kerry as their international Climate Czar. They are still trying to eliminate any sources of CO2. Cow excretions get a lot of blame, and the drive to get people to stop eating meat continues. Do you have fake meat in your grocery store yet? Ours is called “Beyond Meat”. I am not interested, but apparently they are pushing mealworms too, and the price of bacon is skyrocketing!

Do study up. They are trying to change the world under our feet for no real reason whatsoever. Visit Dr Roy Spencer.com. He and Dr. John Christy run the satellites that measure the temperature of the world for NASA. Go to Climate Depot.com for the latest news, studies and lists of prominent climate scientists, and wattsupwiththat.com. masterresource.com, or on any of those sites– links to many prominent Climate Scientists. Best book, is by Patrick Moore: Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom. Available at Amazon. Patrick Moore was one of the founders of Greenpeace, and left that organization when they got more fascinated with being activists than in accomplishing anything, to get his PhD in Climate Science. The book is invaluable.

Just Not One of His Better Days! by The Elephant's Child

From Issues & Insights.com:

President Joe Biden:
“I’m running to change the dynamic of how the economy grows” he said, “I’m tired of trickle-down. Trillionaires and billionaires are doing very very well.” The problem, of course is that there are no trillionaires. President Biden’s job is not to change the dynamic of how the economy grows. That’s not his job. He has no constitutional authority to meddle in private affairs.

The New York Post wrote today that President Biden owes up to $500,000 in back taxes.

Real Clear Politics notes that Joe Biden’s job approval rate (Gallup) is only 41%

As soon as Biden issued a ‘mandate’ for people to get vaccinated, the vaccination rates dropped. On Sept 2, almost 907,000 got a shot, on September 16, the rate dropped to 723,000 and has stayed at that level, with a plethora of commentary saying essentially “you can’t make me”.

On the economy, Biden repeatedly told the country that he was certain that his economic policies would lead the U.S. to prosperity. Inflation, he said, was a temporary artifact of his plan working.

Not everything is “racist” by The Elephant's Child

Here’s an exchange reported by the press, that is unfortunately all too common. New York City: “One of the leaders of Black Lives Matter’s Greater New York chapter slammed Mayor Bill de Blasio for the city’s vaccine mandate, explaining “the :mandate is racist and specifically targets black New Yorkers ” in a statement to Fox News.” https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/09/26/ny-blm-leader-de-blasios-vaccine-mandate-racist-specifically-targets-black-new-yorkers/

Well, yes, he probably is specifically targeting black New Yorkers because their rates of getting vaccinated are way too low, and he’s trying to save your lives and those of your parents and elderly relatives. This is a worldwide epidemic, and killing lots of people. The mayor doesn’t want you or your family and friends to contract Covid-19 and die from the disease. Unfortunately, a lot of people are dying from the disease, and undoubtedly because of silly attacks like yours, more people are not getting the vaccine which might save their lives.

I am sorry if you run into racist attacks or slights, Do try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and try to remember that what you might regard as a racist slight, might not be intended that way at all.

Destroying the Nation by Immigration by The Elephant's Child

I’m beginning to think that we should just shut down the border completely for a month or two, or longer if necessary. Otherwise, tear-gas if necessary. There is a legal, orderly process by which one may come to the United States. It is not complicated. You go to your nearest U.S. consulate or embassy and apply. You wait your turn, and when you are given permission, you are able to come in. You can apply to become a citizen. You study up on the laws and rules and regulations and history, and when you have successfully passed the citizenship test, there is a ceremony where you swear your allegiance, and we celebrate your new citizenship. (That may not be completely accurate, but it is my understanding. )

Statistically, new immigrants are inclined to vote Democrat, which may be why we now have encounters at the border that are higher than the populations of eleven states (and Washington D.C.). I am really tired of all this blather about how we cannot call them “illegal aliens” but must call them “migrants” instead. And how we must be compassionate, and welcome the rest of the world in, to be nice.

Two of Biden’s Afghan Refugees who have been staying on an American military base since being evacuated from their home country are now facing federal charges for sex crimes during their stay at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin. Twenty year old Bahrullah Noori is charged with attempting a sex act with a minor and three other charges of sex with minors. 32 year old Mohammed Imaad is charged with domestic abuse after choking and suffocating his own wife on September 17th. That’s not a problem with Islam, but it surely is here.

We have just been through Joe Biden’s order to end the Border Patrol’s ability to ride horses on the long, long difficult border because it might look “mean.” Along with the illegal aliens, we are getting vast amounts of illegal drugs from the Mexican Drug Cartels, and the number of deaths from fentanyl overdoses in this country are outrageous. Eighty percent of the illegal border crossers claim “asylum” but would be denied on that claim.

Once somebody becomes a citizen, they get to bring in all their relatives as well. I welcome legal immigrants, but this is something quite different. “Brian Lonergan writes at “American Greatness: ” Those who grew up with Ronald Reagan’s ‘shining city on a hill” or John F. Kennedy’s New Frontier vision experienced leadership that sought the best for America and its citizenry. In those eras, politicians from both major parties seemed to prioritize the good of the country; they only disagreed on the means to get us there”.

“Beneath the surface of Biden’s genial Uncle Joe schtick is an executive branch controlled by some of the most dogmatic left-wing apparatchiks ever seen in American politics. Among their witch’s brew of radical ideas, they have seized upon immigration as one of the quickest and most effective ways to transform the country to their vision.”

Former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott wrote to Congress: “The Biden administration’s team at DHS is laser-focused on expediting the flow of migrants into the U.S. and downplaying the significant vulnerability this creates for terrorists, narcotics smugglers, human traffickers, and even hostile nations to gain access to our homeland.”

All this was supposed to cement the Hispanic voters to the Democrat party, but it’s not working. A recent poll found that Biden’s support is dropping sharply among Hispanic voters in Texas. Turns out they don’t want an overcrowded, lawless and poverty stricken country either.

The Sending of Messages: by The Elephant's Child

Book recommendation; invaluable: Economics in One Lesson, by Henry Hazlitt. The paperback is only $9.59 at Amazon. One for yourself and your kids, and buy an extra to send to your congressperson. I have images of hundreds of Economics books descending on members of Congress, and thinking what a powerful message that would send, especially to members messing around with dramatic dreams of infrastructure and careless raising of taxes and inflation. Yes, I know you probably wouldn’t buy one for your congressperson, but it’s fun to think of the effect of such a message.

James Buchanan Used to Be Considered the Worst U.S. President in History by The Elephant's Child

15th U.S. President in American History from 1857 to 1861. Pennsylvania Democrat.

Fox News Headline: Biden Administration Doubles Refugee Admissions target to 125K. How about lowering it to zero for a six-month cooling off period? Or longer. I have not personally been affected in the slightest by Joe Biden’s opening the gates to whoever wants to turn up at the border, but I am alarmed. One hundred and twenty-five thousand illegal aliens who cannot be bothered to go through the normal process of applying to come to the United States, but just want to force their way across the border.

That act, in itself, suggests that these are not responsible people who will be a good addition to our country. That would seem to be fairly obvious. That is suggested by the need for ICE, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, which manages the illegal or undocumented inside the country.

In the wake of Covid, there has been concern about admitting illegals who have not been vaccinated or tested, and may have active cases of the disease. The White House has responded today to that concern. White House: “ILLEGAL ALIENS DO NOT NEED PROOF OF VACCINATION BECAUSE ‘NOT INTENDING TO STAY”. Oh, how simple. Why didn’t I think of that? How do we know they are not intending to stay?

Here is obviously the place to add a link to a piece from American Greatness by Victor Davis Hanson, called “The Afghanistization of America“.

Americans are increasingly getting anxious about the Biden administration. Confidence dropping, alarm increasing. Biden’s approval ratings keep dropping steadily, inflation increasing, taxes going up, as inflation starts becoming obvious at the grocery store, alarm will increase. The current inflation rate is 5.25% for the 12 months ending in August 2021. Democrats in Congress, being economically illiterate, are attempting to pass an enormous spending bill which will make everything worse. Mostly found under the rather fatuous title of “infrastructure”, which is Washington DC’s title for major overspending. The last round of major inflation was in the 1970s, and it was bad!

The federal government has NO MONEY OF ITS OWN. Every cent comes out of your pocketbook or wallet. Unfortunately they regard that as just another available resource. The ordinary congressperson makes $174,000 a year, The Speaker of the House makes $225,500. a year, and the majority and minority leaders make $193,400. You can just look it up. Do I sense a significant number of people suddenly considering whether or not they would like to be a congressperson?

That’s when the modern computer gets to be really fun. When you can simply look stuff up while sitting at home, if you only think to ask.

Buchanan was a Northern Democrat, yet regarded the Southern Democrats kindly. This was directly in the build-up to the Civil War, which leads to just why he was considered our worst.

Illegal Border Crossers, Del Rio, Texas by The Elephant's Child

Joe Biden has certainly determined to alter the United States of America. He’s invited Central America to come. They are not refugees, but just want to earn more money than they can at home. We currently have some 14,000 refugees from Haiti camped under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas. Haiti was once a prosperous French colony, but now the poorest nation in the Carribean. Their President just got assassinated, so ther is apparently unrest. We are arranging flights back to Haiti for them.

Our state of Georgia is getting 1,000 Afghan “refugees” dumped on it. Washington State gets 1.7 thousand, California gets 6.3 thousand, if this chart of the Approved Number of Afghan Refugees by State is correct. This first group of Afghans is 37,000. Biden is dumping most of them in red states.

The Taliban commander told CNN that they believe they will one day have Islamic Law across the world. That’s what they are required to believe and work for. You might want to inquire a bit about Islamic Law. Not exactly what we are accustomed to. The 37,000 Afghans is supposedly just the first bunch. We have more in camps in other Asian countries where we have them waiting to come here, I guess. I did not vote for Joe Biden, but I certaily did not expect this from him, nor did others.

An excelent source for information is the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS.org), a Washington D.C. Think Tank dedicated to immigration.

Congress Is Up to Their Usual Tricks! by The Elephant's Child

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Ca) said today on WABC 770AM that Congress’s $1 trillion Infrastructure bill and the $3.5 trillion “reconciliation plan” would be the amount of money we spent to win World War II.”

“Infrastructure”, as I have said before, is just a cover for whatever spending the Democrats want to do. If you doubt that just call the offices of your Congressional representatives and ask just what specific”infrastructure” in your district is getting rebuilt or repaired and when and at what cost. See if you can get any specific answers, I strongly suspect you cannot. They probably do not even know if there is anything in your district that is in need.

President Biden promised that they wouldn’t raise taxes on anyone with income less than $400,000. Uh huh. It’s turning out to be at $30,000 where your taxes go up.

Inflation is already becoming obvious at places beyond the gas pump, where news stations regularly post pictures of “verified inflation” in the increased prices of gas. Of course in many cases that’s also intended to be a boost for electric cars, to solve the “climate crisis” in which they believe so fervently.

Again, there is no climate crisis. Our climate is controlled by the action of the sun. The CO2 emanating from auto exhausts, and cow excretions is a natural plant food, and countries like Australia and, yes, even Afghanistan, are reporting record crops due to the slight amount of increased plant food in the air.

Check out Amazon or your local book store for Patrick Moore’s Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom. Has photos of plant growth under situations of increased amounts of CO2 that clearly demonstrate the effects. Patrick Moore was one of the founders of Greenpeace, and then, becoming skeptical of the organization, went back to grad school to get his PhD in Climate Science. The book is just 200 pages, and invaluable.

President Biden is in Danger of Being Hoist With His Own Petard! by The Elephant's Child
September 18, 2021, 2:48 pm

There’s a wonderful old phrase: “Hoist with his own petard” which comes from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, which means, essentially, “you did it to yourself, you fool”.

President Joe Biden is deep in that territory. He has implied with words and deeds that we welcome immigrants, legal or illegal, especially if they promise to become Democrat voters, once citizens and able to vote.

At present we have 14,000 illegal Haitian immigrants in a migrant camp under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas, and are having to arrange transportation back to Haiti for them, lest more Haitians join them. Once a prosperous French colony, through a series of bad dictators and bad management, Haiti has become the poorest nation in the Carribean. Violence from Cartel members and cheaper smuggling rates seem to have prompted the current influx here.

Biden’s shortchanging Florida’s allotment of Covid Antibody treatment to punish Florida for being Republican and not agreeing with his policies may well come back to punish him if anyone dies from not being able to get the needed medicine. Not the kind of thing you play around with, denying needed medicine as a political punishment. Classic petard territory.

Biden is Playing Hardball With Covid Lifesaving Antibody Treatment. by The Elephant's Child

President Joe Biden managed to constrict the allotment of lifesaving antibody treatment needed by the State of Florida, giving the state about half of what is needed for a routine week, claiming “equitable distribution” apparently as a form of revenge against Republican governors (including Alabama, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia and Louisiana who he claimed were comprising too big a share of the supply , 70% in recent weeks.

Normally, the state needs about 72,000 doses a week to meet the needs, but the Feds sent only 30,950 doses.

“Some view Biden’s move as a form of revenge against Republican governors, as Biden vowed during his coronavirus speech this month to get governors who oppose his agenda “out of the way.”

“If they will not help, if those governors won’t help us beat the pandemic, I’ll use my power as president to get them out of the way,: Biden vowed. Well, what’s a few more dead people here and there.

Changing World, Changing Times! by The Elephant's Child

People are losing faith in our electoral systems. The computer age has demonstrated how easy it is or can be to transform the vote. There were certainly some fraudulent votes in the last election, enough to change the outcome? Probably not, but I have to admit that I was troubled by the gentleman who was born in 1824 who voted and whose vote was counted. I hope states are working assiduously to make their voting processes more secure.

Democrats are attempting at present to put the federal government in charge of elections rather than individual states, and that attempt must be thoroughly defeated. Can’t think of anything that would do a bigger job or a worse job of controlling our electoral system than putting Congress in charge. And inviting them in the process to keep changing things as the majorities in Congress change.

If you want more people to get vaccinated, you’d probably do better to carefully explain the pandemic, and why vaccinations help to end the pandemic and protect you and yours, than issue mandates. Explain it over and over. A mandate, ordering everybody to do something that they fear, just makes people angry and resentful.

New jobs, new industries pop up all the time, offering new opportunity and a different life. Is this a good thing or not? Is the country better off if people remain or move? Is moving to a new location a life improvement or not? Certainly moving is hugely disruptive. Having to learn your new town or city, new facilities, new customs, make new friends, find new businesses to patronize. Just changing grocery stores is a big deal. Our lives are changing subtly in ways that we don’t understand as we actually do it. And is this a good thing?

Then put those changes in the lives of new immigrants from Afghanistan who do not speak English, do not understand our customs, do not share our religions and yet demand that we respect theirs. The same thing. of course, is happening in the lives of new “migrants” from Central America and elsewhere in the world. Apparently the migrants crossing the southern border include those from many other countries and continents, including Africa and Asia.

We do have a legal immigration system that invites those who want to come to America to apply at their nearest consulate or embassy and wait their turn. The rules change for companies that want employees from other countries whose schools specialize in (especially) computer technology that I assume ours do not, or are they just cheaper to hire?

We have small specialized grocery stores popping up that feature goods from India, and other neighboring countries. Soon, in the parts of the country where Afghan refugees are being located, Islamic groceries will be popping up. People may change their residence or their state, but don’t mess with their foods!

The Day After: Newsom Not Recalled, Taliban Promise to Help Biden with Climate! by The Elephant's Child

Somehow, yesterday’s post didn’t get posted, so we can go directly to today’s update. California Governor Newsom did not get officially recalled, unfortunately, and California Democrats are trying to figure out how to ban recall efforts. Pity. Lousy governor, but politics will often triumph over plain old common sense. The train to nowhere will continue going nowhere, the needed cleanup of forests won’t happen, the water problems will continue, but I have no vote. I have lived all over California in 6 or 7 cities all over the state, and loathed the state generously over the years.

General Milley will be retired, court-martialed, or simply fired in short order. Congress has informed President Biden that they are not going along with his big spending dreams, and I don’t know what’s happening with the unbelievably stupid taxpayer money going to Afghanistan nor to the Afghan refugees being imported here. Latest reports have over a thousand Americans left behind in Afghanistan. Veterans have drummed up rescue efforts, but are not receiving any help from our State Department, which is apparently more afraid of annoying the Taliban than in getting our citizens out. File this whole thing under Badly Handled Mess. But the Taliban did promise to help President Biden with his climate concerns.

And as with so many other things, President Biden’s climate concerns are misplaced. The Earth is not overheating, The climate is controlled by the actions of our sun. CO2, carbon dioxide, is a natural fertilizer for plants, and even Afghanistan has had unusually bountiful crops.

Most forest fires are caused by lightening strikes, you can check that out with the U.S. Forest Service online, and learn where fires are and what their prospects are. I can look out of my window here, to the South where I get a view of distant trees and if they look smoky, I know there are fires in the Cascade Range. Growing up, one of my closest friends was daughter of a Forest Ranger, and ran a station. We got to ride the horses, or fish in the creeks in the meadows that were the beginnings of a major river. If you have never been to a Forest Service Lookout, inquire about visits. They can be very interesting, and they are located on major peaks where you can see for miles and miles.
