What I’m seeing out there is plainly “unsettled.” Businesses that had plans for Fall are cancelling them, readjusting them,or just plain trying to figure out what to do. What do they do about Covid? Require masks?, work from home via Zoom, get everybody back in the office? Some people have really liked working from home, never having to get out of their pajamas. Pay for empty office space? What about planned events? There are major finances attached to all these choices. Nothing’s normal. Is the Delta Variant as big a threat as the previous one? Do small shops open fully? Is that a major risk with this “Delta Variant” and does that mean there can be more “variants? ‘
Obviously, I’m not even beginning to touch on all the questions and variables. Schools are undecided about what they are going to do, which makes mothers of schoolchildren undecided, and so on and on. You have Congresspeople like Cori Bush who wants criminal charges blocked for American Blacks for any crime they might commit. AOC is very big on a Green New Deal, a remarkably ignorant idea, and some kind of “Climate Corps” which will go around telling people to? Turn off their lights? Turn off the gas stove? Stop driving? Who knows? She is obviously not knowledgeable about anything connected to climate.
Joe Biden has named John Kerry as his Climate Czar, I cannot imagine why, and also Gina McCarthy who was in the Obama Administration, and managed to poison two rivers, one in Alaska, and the Colorado as well. Not exactly impressive appointments.
The Climate “Panic” originated at Davos. Christiana Figueres, the General Secretary of the IPCC at the time, held a press conference to explain that it was our best chance to get rid of hated “Capitalism.” I rather like Capitalism myself.
I belong to the school that says the climate is not doing anything unusual. CO2 is a natural food for plants that makes crops grow greater to feed a hungry world. The climate is controlled by our Sun, not by automobile exhausts. The Earth’s temperature was up to 4 degrees warmer during the Holocene Optimum 9,000 to 5,000 years ago. And over the last century has gained barely one degree.
If you want to learn more about Climate, I recommend Patrick Moore’s Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom. Patrick Moore was one of the founders of Greenpeace, and left the organization when it became more political than climate concerned, to get his PhD in climate science. He already had a degree in forestry. He has a great picture of 3 trees of identical size, growing in panels with varying amounts of CO2. The differences are impressive.
Also I recommend Marc Morano’s Green Fraud, and Dr. Steven Koonin’s Unsettled. What Climate Science Tells Us and What it Doesn’t. Worth your time and they are all available at Amazon. Take the time to study up.
